Looking for some feedback

Hi, been lurking here for awhile and this is my first post. I\'ve been painting off and on for years but just started really trying to improve my technique and better my painting at the start of this year. Would really appreciate any feedback and advice people could give me on my most recent mini-

Thanks!

It\'s a very nice mini, I like your color choices. A very naturalistic color scheme. My main complaint with this model is that the highlighting and shading is too subtle. I also think the highlights on the cloak seem to be in the wrong place, but it\'s hard to tell the only obvious highlights I can see are at the bottom. The boots are nicely highlighted, if you could highlight the gloves and cloak to the same degree, that would help.

Hello Signor Duzzdan, welcome to the boards here...
Looks like quite a nice job. I\'m not too keen on some of your colour choices, but that\'s personal preference.
In general your technique seems pretty sound, but like has already been said you just need to go one stage higher on the high lights to make it pop. It\'s kinda wierd really, but there is such a thing as painting for photortaphy, which is like extreme pop.
Also, as has already been mentioned, you might wanna think about where you put the highlights, see if you can find a tutorial on zenithal high lighting in the tutes section, basically, it\'s like light falling directly from abovew, so the top of the hood should be alot bright er for example. Cool first post:)
and good photos too.

I see what you guys are saying about the highlights needing to be turned up a notch. I think the fig looks good in hand, but the photography seems to \'eat\' my highlights. I know some of the things to work on for my next mini now, thanks lots
