Looking for some feedback

I think the size of the pic is killing it a bit. I'd like a closer look. It's a good pic in terms of lighting and I like the contrast I can see on the red, but I'd need a closer look at the details to be more constructive because I can't really make out any highlights. It is well defined though and the colour choice are good and sit well together on the mini.

Pic could do with being closer, details hard to make out. Not sure if the photo reduced them, but could also benefit from some final highlights on the extremities and/or edges. The base doesn't really lift it up, the rocks don't appear painted, a shading aspect that'd compliment the juicy shading on the mini is missing in the rocks. Lush colour choices, vibrant without being cartoony with that shading.

I appreciate the comments guys. I will try to get some closer shots tonight. As far as the base rocks, they are just straight out of the ziplock baggy. The original pic was 1200X1600, which I scaled down to 500 width, I will try maybe 700 next time and see if that makes a better picture.

Those pics are much better. The leather looks good, but gets a bit muddy and indistinct towards the feet so try to keep your blends smooth. Great contrast on the red and blue, again just work on smoothing out the blends. Once you have your highest and lowest colours try going back in with a few soft glazes of your mid tone to smooth it out. The metal bodice looks good, but the scale tabard lacks definition. Try not to apply washes over whole area; apply them only in the recesses to really define the shapes. It takes more time, but looks better and doesn't flatten the details out as much - failing that, really thin your washes and build them up slowly if you are going to wash the whole area. And yes, paint and prime you basing material just like the rest of the mini or it sticks out. You are improving with every mini though. Nice progress, kepp at it! :smile-big:

I am not familiar with that mini. But the chin and mouth look a little soft. Cleaning up those blends should help and maybe a real thin nice dark line right below the mouth. Maybe baal red with a with a drop of dark green or blue in it? I am kind of a lurker though so it's just my $.02.

There is a blotch of yellow on the right hand that should get fixed.

You have a lot of bright colors on that guy and I think that is a little confusing to the eye. You should read Chrispy's color theory article here:

It's pretty technical but entertainingly written. I read it like 7 times and am still screwed up
