One suggestion is that when you do the stripes, don\'t make the edges sharp. Blur them a bit. It makes them look more like fur. If the edge is too abrupt they look like paint stripes.
firstly, what are you wanting to paint the stripes on too. if its fur, do as shawn R.L says, or if its on armour, its probably better to make them sharper at the edges, rather than blurred.
Tiger stripes? That shouldn\'t be too hard. I wouldn\'t recomment making the edges blurry -- on such a tiny scale you\'d need them to be sharp to really stand out, I think. A piece of advise: don\'t just leave them blank black, use grey to highlight each stripe separately. Oh and one more thing to remember: tigers\' pelts are white on the belly
