Hi Wrestlerguy, just had a look at your Tiriel. Some nice brushskills on display there. Improvement suggestions? Okay...

Remove moldline on sword hilt. I hate moldlines, they're a bloody curse upon painters :)

I think some darkening shades on the base would help to give the rocks a bit more heft. A browny green and/or purple glaze to deepen the shadows. Or perhaps pick up some of the deeper orange from the armour? More Bestial Brown I suppose? Anyway, I'd like to get more of a sense of weight to the rocks :)

I'm not a fan of real gemstones with minis, I think they look incongruous. To be fair, in that top shot in the Gallery it doesn't look too bad but that's with a pure white background. How does it work with some of that NMM behind it? You've obviously got the ability, so I think having a crack at painting it would be worth a go. I like this tutorial...

...and this one is handy too...

I'm not an NMM painter so am a bit hazy on the technique but I think some final white dot highlights on the armour, particularly the orange, should finish it off.

Show us a photo so we can see the fish! What's the story with her walking on water? I mean, I can make up my own narrative but I wondered if there was a specific reference behind it?

A top highlight on the hair to give it a bit of healthy shine would be nice.

Lot's of female minis seem to be painted with heavy makeup so it's nice to see her without. I'm wondering about just a touch more colour to the lips?

Anyway, just some thoughts, have a chew & spit them out if you don't like :D

Cheers, B.

Hey B thanks for the feedback, lots of good stuff. I agree with the gem stone and I rarely do things out of scale. I thought the idea would be fun but I agree it did turn out as I has wanted. The rocks I also agree with. There is a touch of green along them that seems to be washed out by the gloss of the water. That being said I think the rocks are still lacking contrast (shadows). Good stuff, thanks again for the help.
