Looking to refine my skills for golden demon but no one around my area is better

I want to get better and learn. The problem is that I am the best painter in my area and I am a very visual learner. Currently im very capable of imo a golden demon standard on many areas but not even close on some specific problem areas and colors. I want to find someone to maybe learn from but the problem is where? who? how?

how do i speed up my process of learning since ive been at this level wall for a while. Would it be odd to meet up with someone? does that sort of thing happen that is if there is such a painter in new jersey or near me at least

No, not weird at all. I know there are painting groups in several areas, some members of which are exceptional painters and happy to help. (SEE EDIT)

Try looking around at the local game stores and see if there's any around in your area. You don't have where you are listed at the moment, so can't point you any direction in particular.

The other way is to start some WIP thread on a mini that you'd really like to take to the next level. And take the suggestions that are offered and try them. Have to add that because I did supply comments once to a person who specifically asked for help, and he threw a childish fit because what I criticized was something I myself had done early on as well.

EDIT: Okay, you say you're the best painter in the area. Maybe it's time to hit a convention, or specifically ask someone that you know is better than you to mentor you. Lots of them here. Again, falls back to the WIP you could make.

FYI, you might ask folks around here how they did their works e.g. by PM-ing them when you see their work in the search bar in CMON's site. Or as suggested elsewhere take an art class. The thing about follow the master, become the master.

Green, PM Bloodasmedium. He is a very active member here, a published painter and a Golden Demon winner. He is from New Jersey and he used to teach painting courses as well. He devotes a ton of time to the hobby, but his greatest trait is that he is a genuine guy that loves to help others. Send him a PM now!!!!!!!

Good advice from the others. Roughly where in NJ are you? If you're not too far from Philadelphia, I highly recommend you check out the MFCA group. They meet once a month and have a yearly show each May. Their show is one of the best in the US in my opinion, drawing talented painters from around the country and Europe. If you're closer to NY, there's a group in Long Island, LIHMCS. Their show is coming up in mid November. I was there last year and, while not quite as big as MFCA, still had a lot of great stuff and I found the group members to be especially friendly and outgoing. There's also JerseyFest which is more a show for larger scale garage kit type stuff, but you may still find it fun to check out. I haven't gone but several friends really enjoyed it.

Slightly farther away is the NCMSS in DC, their show was just last month. Similar to Long Island though perhaps a bit smaller. You should also keep an eye out for NOVA Open next year (end of August). Their capital palette competition tends to have some nice prizes and it's a Crystal Brush qualifier. They also offer a number of seminars on mini painting.

MFCA, LIHMCS, and NCMSS all started out as historical figure groups but at this point all have a healthy mix of fantasy/sci-fi and gaming miniature painters as well.

I'll play devils advocate here. Hide in the shadows lurking on peoples WIP threads. Steal their knowledge and hoard it for yourself until you are unrivaled!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or the whole asking and PM-ing thing is good too. Def post pics and start a WIP thread, those always suck people in ;)
