Has anyone seen the Elector Count Morius Leitdorf, the Empire Captain with shield and sword, and the Em[pire Captain with pistol and hammer?

I have to say I am very impressed with them.

Yep I\'m impressed.
Preferred this one:

Studio Version with some very subtle Freehand initials on the Breastplate.
Definitely not sculpted, as I got one, Yesterday Finished it this PM.
Nice clean sculpt.

Yeah they really caught my eye in the latest WD. Well done GW! I\'d like to see every army get this kind of great special attention in a few models. It just takes one model like this to get me brushing my abandoned GW projects!

Not impressed! While these may be a bit better than some of the other stuff GW has put out recently they are still miles behind the quality that other companies and sculptors offer these days. Great for Empire players to get some of the better recent sculpts for their armies, but for me as a painter they have no appeal.

My fave is still the one with the gory sword- although I prefered the sculpt of it shown in a WD showcase of mike andersons work.

I´m with ritual

the sculpts are definetly better than the rank ´n´ file imperials fro GW i´ve seen., but i still have to say they could need some more details ( for example the sword handle ). Still they will definetly look good on the table

btw, the new mounted imperial hero \"Whatshisnamagain\" looks nice but am i the only one who sees a a striking similarity between the horse and this Rackham sculpt ? It jumped to my mind the minute i saw it

It does have similarities, but the big difference is that the GW horse is tiny compared to the rider, whereas the Rackham horse is huge. :]

As a warhammer player, what I love is that these figs scream out and yell everything I love about the warhammer world setting. If that doesn\'t mean anything to you and they\'re just pieces of metal then I could see them not pulling your junk in the same way a SmartMax model or similar would do.

I am so excited by these that I think I might start a new army. I haven\'t thought of doing that for a long time!

I don\'t think my feelings about the Warhammer setting have anything to do with it... These are mediocre sculpts, regardless of whether I like or dislike the background.

Well I like the models more because of the connection I feel to the setting. Even if they\'re not 10 outta 10 style sculpts the fact that they can connect to me, and others, means that they\'re succesful on some level.

A mediocre sculpt that speaks to me will be more fun to paint then a technically flawless sculpt that doesn\'t really connect. I haven\'t picked up any of the Freeman figs which are damn impressive, but they don\'t demand I buy and paint them the same way these do.

So there! Anyone know the release dates for these models?

well said sir ! - And please don´t get me wrong, it´s a very nice mini , i just think that it could have been an outstanding one.

And with the release date - i saw that mini in a game store at friday , so i guess the canadian release will be within the next days, if it hasn´t been already released

@Ritual: yep, this horse is definetly smaller, as that giant stalion from rackham :D
and i really do like that mounted hero , i might pick him up or ask if one of the local gamers want´s me to paint it for him

I\'ll waste no time on either of those categories. There\'s plenty of great sculpts that do speak to me to last me a life time. :)

I always find it extremely annoying when I\'ve started painting something and I start noticing one awkward detail after another, folds that look stiff and weird, poor anatomy, etc. etc. Usually, I end up not finishing such minis.

Ah i\'m totally down with Ritual on this one. While it\'s passable, it\'s not an outstanding sculpt. If I saw this thing unpained i\'d not give it a second glance.
GW are seriously slipping imo.

I saw the supposedly not long released Wolf guard whith lightning claws recently and just thought \' what the hell\' ... First thought was, \' i\'d take off that head and it might be half decent\'.
I\'m paying the previous GW arguments a serious rethinking. Not impressed at all with their current efforts and I can\'t comprehend how much they charge for this crap.
