You have sparked my curiosity. Now I must try some! (Funeral services will be held for the cat after I find some in the U.S. after all curiosity killed the cat.)

As long as it has no nuts in it. I\'m allergic to nuts.

@tzor & supervike: consider wort, the stuff that yeast turns into beer. Thick, dark, rich, a little smelly, full of goodness. Marmite is very like that. Just use a little, though, its flavour is somewhat strong.

Apparently, the stuff that\'s available here is supposedly better than the Marmite from the UK. Dunno how true that is, since that\'s based on the opinions of the ZA ex-pats living in Pommieland - we tried to make England another province of South Africa, like New Zealand is, but Pakistan got to it first. :D

I\'m afraid that I\'m firmly in the yes camp on this one :D Hot buttered crumpets with marmite..... food of the gods lol

If I aint got no Marmite for me toast Bovril does the job just as well, slap it on good and thick too and if I aint got no Bovril for a brew just dump in a good handful of oxo cubes et voila hot yeasty goodness in a mug, well nearly. Cant get enough of that pungent stuff.

Its just another classic example of us Ozzies inventing something good (vegimite) and the someone else in the world steels out idea. Can anyone say airconditioning and elevators.

Oh well hate marmite love vegimite absolutely detest promite.
