file off the skull

then heat some thin plasticard and bend it in to shape for the cheek guards, and add trim from greenstuff. do you reckon this will work?
also, any thoughts as to the crest?

Id just GS everything.. as for the crest some sort of support under the GS would be needed. a thin piece of plastic filed to basic shape would work.

Other than that maybe looking for crests off some sort of roman figures.

Warlord in the UK just came out with plastic romans maybe theirs useful parts like crests in their kits.
check the trading section Neil H has a set for sale i think 1/2 price.

Not any more he hasn\'t lol

You\'d be wanting the praetorian box set in any case as the others don\'t have enough plumes. Going by the size of the figures I already have from them they\'d probably be too small. I\'d stick with GS if I were you. Failing that check out the Crocodile games Greek stuff which is probably more the right scale.

Not for the plumes no.

I did have an idea though I have no idea whether it would actually work or not. You could try using a brush attachment from a dremel like this one:

Cut it in half and see if you can remove a chunk from the middle and it might work.

There\'s a plastic Khorne Berserker head that\'s very close if you clip off the bunny ears. You could fill the narrow center slit and add the cheek gards w. green stuff. Check the dire avenger sprue for some crests, although I\'m not sure if there are any symetrical enough to turn sideways.
