I am going to do this, and I\'ve started to map out what to do, Find a category.... check!

Sometimes I use ideas I see on other models to use on my own in a different context (I think everybody does that), but I never copy a project.

As for the articles I\'m pretty sure you can go ahead with it, people with an actuall chance at winning a GD don\'t usually steal otherpeoples idea, or at least I hope so, maybe I\'m too naive.

Personally i don\'t think thre\'s anything wrong with using other people\'s \'ideas\' as inspiration for your own work. Think about it, nothing is original people have to get ideas from somewhere and so long as you don\'t subject yourself to plaigirism its fine by me.
Don\'t worry so much about the category just do as good a job as you can on it and make sure you have fun! The ones that win have more than just a bit of paint slapped on them, they put real thought and care into the mini and that often shines through.

It\'s not about getting ideas, just that the idea I have is pretty unique *I think*, so using it as a reference in the same competition would be as good as plagiarism
