My friends and I have been talking about this. So which do you guys like better, Madtv or SNL?

They are both skit-based \"comedy\" shows. I use that term lightly because they are mostly just actors and actresses making idiots of themselves.
I can\'t stand any of the newer SNL shows(because I hate jimmy fallon) but I hate madtv more.

Neither. I\'m too busy doing things to watch tv on saturday night. And I don\'t even know when madtv airs.
SNL stopped being watchable back when I was young, anyway.

lollollol this is not the response I thought I\'d get! I guess we\'re all just to busy painting to care about tv huh.

MADtv all the way!!!
MADtv has characters that everyone is familiar with and love!
Stewart, Miss Swan, Rusty, Jose (I think that is who he is: the black guy that plays the mexican dude), the UPS man, the two latino girls, etc.... the list goes on
SNL does not have any real recognizable characters nowadays. They did when Chris Katan, Will Farrell and Darrel Hammond were around.
All in all I guess it depends on whether one likes satirical humor or campy humor. I like campy so I like MADtv.

Sounds like we in the UK are missing out on a great deal of ......................NOTHING.

Forgot to say: SNL has stunk for years, which turned me on to MADTV. Overall decent, but I don\'t take time out to watch it much anymore either.

SNL has the advantage that it WAS funny back when it was the Not Ready for Prime time players, and a couple of generations past that. However, sometime around I\'ll say c. 1990 or so, it start to suck.
MadTV was never funny.

Well, I guess you\'re entitled to your opinion, even if it IS wrong.
I\'m probably not the best barometer of such things, as I like most anything.
That being said, I\'ve found things to laugh at with MADtv, and SNL just has people that make me wonder why it\'s still on the air.
And so far MADtv\'s never tried to force upon us a movie-length piece of tripe based on a 2-minute character...ossessed:
