I'm sure you'll do the busts well Maenas, it's been a while since you've done anything non chibi but for example the Brunhilde in your gallery is really nice and I'm sure you've learned something lessons since then, looking forward to it

Weeks pass by and in between I just did another insert for Arcadia Quest Inferno and Lava expansions, and finished off the little bust on my last post. (Hurray!)

@webmonkey, I saw one of them, want to see more ;)

I burned my brushes on the little bust (LOL) and finished it in 12 hours, divided in three sessions between these last couple of days. (Today is bank holidays in my country)
So I will just share the progression shots I did to follow up, unfortunately I still lack a plinth for him so final shot will be missing till I get one or make one. Wanted to give him quite an aged look... what do you all think?

I tried my hand with texture on the "under-helmet hood", also applied some BAM's weathering to the metal helmet ^^ And got some colours desaturated by adding it's complimentary colour, which is a thing I never did before subscribing to this forum.

@sicks and @Octavian Thanks mates!

This one goes for @Saint Toad as I promised him to share some shots of the window-glass stickers I obtained by pouring vallejo still water into the back of a dish and playing with inks in it. I think they have to be inks, or glazes, maybe shades too, because of they transparent properties, maybe with regular paint you get another effect....

Obviously not "state of the art" pieces but fun to produce, and mesmerizing when you look close! hahaha

@Guawol: Glad you like it!
@BloodAsMedium: Thanks John, I've got another one prepared in the line ^^
@Webmonkey: We are all here to learn, share and help each other, so if I spot something that I could and know how to give you my point of view/advice I will do it! ;)

Psychedelic water effects stickers are perfect, Maenas. I really like the spider web one. My niece & nephew are staying the night with us in a few weeks, hopefully.
Bonus: I can buy some nice purple ink, like you have! I love the ones I have, use them all the time, so I'm sure I can use some new colors as well! How's that rationalization for spending money on tiny jars of paint?

Also, great job on the bust. The little bright green trinkets threaded into his beard really stand out nicely, the metals look well worn, and the eyes have nice detail. Great job!

Leonidas!!

Time has come to share another project ^^

Yesterday I had a few hours for painting, spent half the morning and half the afternoon painting! So I could advance on Leonidas bust, first thing I did was the skin, face and arm then I proceed with the cape. Pictures!

By the way I've been following this couple of guys and watching some of their videos... definitely they know what they do! LOL Arkaitz (Noh) and Aythami

I started skin with just three colours, then I progressed to the selection of paints on the right of the pic...
First three were:
VMC Light brown 70929
SC75 Red leather SC30
SC75 Pale skin SC17
and glazing medium from vallejo

A face close up from the half done and almost finished stages.... it's a little smaller than 1,5cm per side.. I did the beard shadow adding blue glazes and SCFG Hellbound flesh (a pale green blue grey) to the flesh mix.

After painting the red cloak I couldn't resist gluing the face in it's place ^^'
For the cloak I mainly used:
SC75 Antares red
SC75 Golden skin (underlayer for the highest lights)
SC75 Blood red
SC75 Black forest green (for the shadows)

On the green for red's shadows I started using sc75 boreal tree green but did not quite work as well so I changed the hue to the sc75 black forest green and it worked much better.

I would like to do some freehand on the cloak but the boxart has a beautiful wavy design that I am not sure I could reproduce, so I was thinking of doing parallel stripes of different widths, but I probably need to look out for reference's of the era for nicer inspiration.

Lovely start on the face Maenas, tones around the upper lip and mouth are particularly nice. This eyes have a really intense 'bore right through you' thing going on as well.

Looking forward to to updates when you get chance.

@Hairster: I had to ask google for help, but now that I know what that ('bore right through you') , yup I agree, though I must confess it was not intended... happy accident here... ^^
@KruleBear: Thank you mate.

Will try to keep you informed ;)

Looking great, Maenas. Looks like you want to clean up the pupil on Leonidas' left eye with a bit of iris blue. I love the colors you've got in his face.

@Guawol & Mally: Ty for passing by and watch :)
@SainToad: Will have an eye on that pupil, xD Thank you.
