Random topic that has probably been done to death but just wanted to say after seeing it absolutely everywhere here in the uk for the last six months or so \'ve finally tried my first pint bottles of Magners.
Pint glass with ice bottle poured on top . Beautiful and 9 bottles with no headache the next day...sweet...
I sense alcoholism round the corner....
what should I do avoid it or just go with the flow???:drunk:

Magners, its just middle class alcoholism!
Personally i couldnt tell the difference between this and White Lightning, but my girlfriend says it Irish cider....so it must be good!

Oh no! Not another one!

Sorry, but it is foul disgusting crap, cider for people who don\'t like cider. It is sweet enough to rot your teeth, a current fashion drink that wont last the decade I predict.

Just my 2c....:innocent:

EDIT: Strongbow is a nice cider that has stood the test of time, great on a really hot summers day. If you have a good grip on reality and fancy a challenge Merrydown is the cider of champions. (Champions are the ones that don\'t die). I lived on it whilst I was at University and it nearly killed me. Ah, great days..

I like it:rolleyes:
But i do agree it is sweet. I can normally only manage a max of 2 pints, before it coats my mouth.

I think both sweet and dry cider have their adherents. I tried Magners but only managed about two mouthfulls before giving it to the dog. It does appear to be the drink of the moment though, I went out tonight and every other person was brandishing a bottle.....some of them also appeared to be drinking Magners...

Not my cup of tea either... seems a bit \'non-alcoholic\' for cider lol :D

Come to think of it, I don\'t actually like cider, so my opinion is a bit invalid :drunk: lol

Hard cider I\'m assuming? Never got into it too much, it is tough to find here in the states. I can find some stuff called Woodchuck around here, but its kinda blah. I did have some in Germany that, as far as I can recall, was delicious.

I\'m a beer snob through and through. I used to hate the idea of being one, but now I embrace it. I\'ve been digging the more hoppy ales lately. I like their bite. There is a IPA (pale ale) called Hercules that a local store around here sells. Amazing if you are into that kind of stuff.

Maiden\'s water at best...:innocent:

I\'d bet a pound to a pinch of pigshit the Irish themselves wouldn\'t touch it with a bargepole..

Well as far as I can tell from the irish centre where I was go they seem to love it...No not a themed irish bar a \"proper irish\" community.
Our lassis from Mayo and she likes it too.
Not really drank other ciders as it seems to give me heartbun normally.
Agree though it could well be a fad brought on by a combination of heat , golfing fo three hours and living with an irishwoman....time will tell...it definitely needs the ice though tried it without this evening and not as good.

Whats all this talk of Cider. Pansy drink. You all need to get a bottle of Bundy rum and coke or dry. Only drink in the world.:drunk::beer:

PS: Has been known to give hangovers and cause you to do some strange things. Thats if you call chasing cars and barking like a dog wierd.

Has anyone mentioned the bloody pricwe of the stuff? Magners is ridiculously overpriced and looks pink in the glass as well. It\'s a lady\'s drink lol

We were supposed to meet a load of guys in town last week but they were 2 hours late because they were searching round shops trying to find some magners because they said the advert made it look really nice, they weren\'t that impressed. :(

I\'ve tried Bundy rum.... feck! never again! My uncle lives in (or very close to) Bundaberg... not that I\'ve ever been but my folks have and bought a bottle of it back.... I reckon they\'ve probably still got it too... it was like drinking petrol lol

Bushmills Malt Whiskey.... now THAT is a nice drink! (most malts are but Bushmills is Sooooooo smooth!)

I have to jump on the \"I hate Magners\" bandwagon! It\'s not big and it\'s not clever!
Anything that causes you to bark like a dog and chase cars seems A O.K to me!
Going blind is also an acceptable side effect.
I prefer good old Jack Daniels me. I went to the Jack D birthday celebrations in Glasgow and what a night! Hot chicks and rock all night long...and the morning.

Ah now we are singing from the same songbook here!
One of Ireland\'s best exports.

@Finn: I\'m really disappointed in you! What has Spike ever done to deserve being given Magners?
If you are going to give the poor animal alcohol, at least make it something decent like a pint of Guiness.

He didn\'t drink it....I am almost ashamed to say that the little fellow doesn\'t like alcohol, even Guiness. He\'s mad on milk and strawberry yoghurt though. Perhaps one day, when he\'s older...???
