I\'d say not an attractive look for anyone....
I got one on ebay but never had any luck with it really....I find it a struggle to get the coordination right when using any kind of magnifier ...practise needed I guess. .....

All 4 eyed guys should start a competiton to see who paints better without his glasses on

Well the short sighted guys would beat the long sighted. I reckon being sjort sighted is an advantage for a mini painter...

@TBS: We\'re talking about using magnifiers for painting, TBS, painting. Get it? ;)

@spazzy: Now you\'ve gone and ruined my mental image of you... you\'re not like that? ;)

As for this four-eye competition, I\'ll have to sit it out. Aye, I use specs, but being long-sighted in the left, and short-sighted in the right eye is no help.

I love my Optivisor. It helps me a lot when I\'m doing things that are very fine detail, or even NMM. The magnification helps me get better blending, believe it or not. I don\'t use it all the time, as I start to get headaches if I use it for more than a few hours. But then I rarely have time to paint for more than a few hours.

Wearing it also allows you to test how much your wife/GF/husband/BF loves you. If s/he ever reaches a point where s/he stops pointing at you and laughing every time you wear it, you know you\'ve got someone who truely loves you! lollol

Modderrhu, do like me, just wink your way to victory :)

Dragonsreach, those look magnifi-c ! and it\'s nice to know that aren\'t that heavy. Now I\'m wondering the amount of headache those would produce on me everytime I need to focus on other stuff than the mini, like mixing paints, etc... I mean, do you put up and down those or keep on for everything from painting to opening a bottle, etc. ? Both look terrible headache wise.

I take them off every time I\'m changing paint and opening a bottle and don\'t use them for blocking in colour.

I try not to use them for more than an hour or so at a time, just to give my eyes time to adjust, Gives me a chance to have a cup of tea, Pee break, 10 minutes kip, make a fuss of the dog whatever.

Being Plastic they do tend to pick up a lot of Crud on the lenses (Which flip up BTW) an old lens cleaning cloth works nicely on them.

I\'ve just started using an headband magnifier with LED lights, great stuff for the fiddly bits, and not cumbersome at all:D

I use one of these on occasion to look at very small details, to do very tight work. they are great. I don\'t use the lights, never exactly where I needed to be. I just have very strong lights on my desktop.
