making flex tip tools

Been wanting to make some tools for sculpting to do finishing smoothing with. What I was thinking of doing was making some simple shapes like a wedge, a flat \'blade\' and round end tips of different widths etc.... I would put a piece of wire or a toothpick in the middle and whatever material over that, wanting to have a squishy, ultra smooth surface on each one.

Do you think something like silicon caulking or some similar thing - gasket goop - would work? Do these or any others cure real smooth, flexible and RETAIN their flexibility?

gs would be a good stiff one

i have mould making 2 part silicone stuff that would be ok. maybe a little too soft though. it\'s prolly be easier (and cheaper in the long run) to buy them tbh

I\'m looking for something that has the squishi-ness of say Gummi Bears and will stay that way. What I\'m thinking of doing is kind of like a popsicle. A stick - toothpick or wire - in the center and the squishy stuff around that.....knowwhatImean?

You could try carving the shape out of a rubber pencil eraser (one of the larger block variety). Then just superglue it to the end of a stick. There\'s a bunch of different softness grades of erasers, so I\'m sure you could find one that works.

yeah the sealant would do what you want, my mate actually made a mould for a head from the stuff
but as freak said, you\'d be better off buying the clay shapers, there\'s 3 different grades of soft-hard, and loads of sizes
