Manufacturers postings

Are we going to see more manufacturers posting on this site ?
I thought that this is an uncommercial site and postings are moderated.
I really hope that the moderators have overseen these postings:

I looked at you post and see that you are new. So, I guess you didn\'t know a lot of people post merchandise here. Not to mention, a lot of freelance painters do the samething. So, I guess non-commercial was out the window a long time ago.lol

me being a professional painter and all I don\'t mind seeing \'merchandise\' as you call it, what I DO mind however is people, and it is mostly pro painters and scenery builders that do this, is posting several views of the same model. This can be seen in the top last 7 days, where the converted Shaggoth had 3 different views, and the Machina deamon 3 as well....that\'s an easy way of getting in the top 50 isn\'t it? i mean, if I would have posted 5 different views of my C\'Tan, I\'d be in there, but I don\'t think it tpo be fair to post more than one image of a model, so I use a collage of different details.

A lot of posters on this site sell their models, and the auction tool is just another way of showing that. I don\'t think it\'s a bad thing for \'companies\' or freelancers to post their wares, only that they shouldn\'t swamp the site with the same models over and over and over and over again....

Comment on multiple view posting...

First I am guilty of multiple view posts in the past week or so, but my motivation was only to show my minis better and to provide better views of my work, not unfairly use a good model to get higher in the ranking. If you feel this is a problem maybe Chern Ann could do something like allowing multiple views but only letting one postig of that mini count torward your ranking? Please don\'t assume that everyone is tryiing something unfair to improve their score. As far as \"professional\" postings go, I really don\'t care since I like viewing the minis, but if this is a problem maybe Chern Ann could come up with a manufacture / professional category to post in that would be seperate from all the average hobbists?

There\'s a lot of people trying to make it big in the painting world. Gain some respect for their mini\'s, make money out of their work etc etc. I am no exception and I think that CMON should feel proud that it can offer this kind of service to its users.

Awesome stuff...

Looking at the submissions, even the comments left by the submitter, to me it looks like they are showing off their wares, just like anyother poster does.

If they had included a price list or something on the submission, I could see where you\'d think that was \'commercial\' or \'advertisting\', but they just look like regular posts.

If a viewer wants to follow the manor house link and check out more of the stuff, that seems to be their perogative.

I may feel different if , for instance, every new GW mini was painted up, posted as an entry and linked to the GW shopping cart.

If I can get a better picture of the mini I take the old one off. I may never get ranked but I feel it is fair and, I also get the input of the new revamp. I have even taken the different effects of under lighting off before after I recieved enough comment to understand what others thought. I hope this is the right thing to do. To me it seems to be.
May be larger picture files allowed to post large front and back on one page would help. I donno
I love the new minis exposed and the artist\'s work advertised to their friends there are some I would never know existed with out the forums chatter.

Gads, that Manor house workshop stuff looks suitable for hoolywood - not for game play. WOW:eek:

I don\'t think that they are a manufacturer (like Reaper or GW), but artists that create nice stuff for miniatures. In fact, I have seen some postings here that were for xxx manufacturer\'s catalogue. Lots of pros, semi-pros and amatures here.

As far a multiple pics, do like Tammy and post the pics in one posting. After I have voted on the \"back view\", \"left side\", \"right side\", close-up of face\", I tend to either pass or start pulling points (which I feel bad for), but 6 posts of one mini? Come On, get over yourself. Learn how to combine pics.
