about marble.....
hey samurai gal... that was a very useful article on creating that nice green marble..... thanks fur postin it....
I\'ve only had some success painting the kinda sculptured marble.....you see on big statues in cathedrals....
see the thing about most of them is.... marble shadows arent really grey....not even very white marble... they are either a funny grey beige or kinda pink... but not solid pink..... sorta funny beige pink......
sooooo depending on what kinda marble you want, mix up a beigy-grey or beigy-pink and use that as the area thats to be deeply shadowed..... the next tone up is a whitish.... almost parchment-like er.... yellow beige....... mix and match paints to achieve effect.....
the final top tone... or highlights is basically a clear, yellow-white or ivory..... when done correctly, you should get something that looks like statue-marble....
hope it helps.
