OK, our European (or is it just a British thing?) contengent are rooted to the rugby scores. I must admit, I\'ve only seen one game and it looks much rougher than our American football, but I could not make out if there were any rules....

Anyway it is March Madness for the college basketball crowd. Who\'s your team? How they doing?

Oklahoma State - they\'re still in after round 1.

...err..being an American (ex-pat), I realize there are rules in football, though I admit I don\'t know what they are. But still, the players are well protectedby the safety pads and helmets.

What I didn\'t realize was that there are rules in rugby...I\'da thought people taking that kind of punishment without extensive body armor wouldn\'t worry about rules after the first game or two...with continual cranial concussions...

..keep your head down, the brits\'ll be here soon...

Rugby rules...

1) Run faster than the blokes who are chasing you and want to kill you..

2) Try to run generally in the direction of their goal and not yours...It\'s thought better form to be kicked to death by the opposition as opposed to your own side...

That\'s about it really.

There are thousands of rules about what you MUST do after a rugby match however:

1) You must get dangerously, life threateningly drunk...

2) You must indecently expose yourself at least 12 times during the course of the evening...

etc...ad nauseam...

Yepper...there go the Huskies. The only bright spot is it was Louisville that we lost to and they\'re advancing. Good to see that if we got stomped by someone who actually continues. Embarassing to get stomped and then see the team get eliminated immediately. :p

big 10 represents...

Iowa Hawkeye fan here didn\'t last past round 1, but

the Big 10 was \' \' this close to having 3 or the final 4 playing. Wisconsin just couldn\'t hold on. Still 2 of 4 is not bad.

First time we\'ve been #1 in 16 years ... Saturday night was just about as depressing and then as exciting a sporting event I\'ve seen!!

Yeah...they were actually talking on National Public Radio about the games this weekend. Commentator was saying that between them all, it was about the most exciting NCAA tournament weekend he\'s ever seen.

Living in Chicago, the orange of the Illini is everywhere.
I should let Jim in on this thread. He\'s actually been recording the games.
Of course we have a bunch of friends who went to the U of I, so we\'ll be hearing about it for a long time.

Yeah...the Huskies exit was very disappointing. More disappointing because I missed the other tournament games...except for the one we lost. :~(
