Alright Folks,

I don\'t post on here very often any more, but i still read the forums frequently, and just thought i\'d share with you my Golden Demon UK entry, which got gold in the open category this year :)

I really tested myself on this one, the blue chrome effect was the most difficult bit, blending took many attempts on some parts.

In true golden demon fashion i managed to get it finished at half 4 on the sunday morning.

way too many hours were put in all-together, over the space of about 3 months (when i started making the base.)

Anyway hope you all like it and i\'m interested to hear what you think about it. :)

Thanks, Joe.

damn joe..... thats by far your best work. GW is lucky to have you working there. the blues are phenomenal and the blends work perfectly. the freehand on the back is what gets me though. if this piece doesnt make it into the top 10 this year i will be VERY surprised.

I can\'t help but agree with every comment so far. The blue is phenomenal and I think it\'s set a new standard for what can be done with this polished/NMM style. This is certainly on par with Daz Latham\'s recent works (Yriel and Caradryan? the Phoenix Guard) which gave me new faith in NMM.

If you find me stumbling around looking confused, it\'s simply because my views about 40k being too gritty for this style are pretty much collapsing all around me. Just my luck, I was starting to get really comfortable with painting dirt and grime :D

Stand out mini. I\'d love to see it up close and personnal. The blue is such a great colour, with really great lighting.

stunning...this one made me smile!!!

edit: No, I take that back...this piece is shocking. I mean you even pulled off different kinds of shiny materials...not only the metals but the silky sheen of the red leather. Just beautiful man...beautiful. A very inspiring piece to say the very least. 10 10 10 10

Congrats Joe, This mini is one of the best I have ever seen, the \'eavy metal team are certainly raising the bar.

That\'s sickening. Full-on, stone-cold sickening. I\'m knocked flat by the work on this. In fact the only thing I\'d possibly criticise (and this is very much a personal opinion) is that the pink, craggy skin and white hair do make him look a bit like an OAP.

But the NMM, the chrome blue and the freehand are just (here\'s that word again) sickening.

All in a good way of course.

I just went around on Games Day and told everybody of this piece. Just b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l work! The blues are spectacular and the freehand is great as well. Well done! Perhaps my favourite piece on the competition.. the sharpness but still smooth blends is something I haven\'t seen before.

Absolutely outstanding. Smashes the sword winner in my opinion, pity you had to enter it in open. I would love to see this in the flesh to appreciate it even more.
Congrats on the gold.
