Marriage proposal

I\'d say oh to be twenty years older, but sadly from your remark about Golden Demons, you are obviously a competition snob. Where\'s the love for people who just aren\'t competitive by nature? You work in a high-paying profession, why would you need a mate who was \"ambitious\" or \"motivated\"? You should be thinking \"pool boy\".

Psst, fact is that women rarely marry men \'less successful\' than themselves. :drunk:

While \'less successful\' is a somewhat subjective term I would typically take it to mean someone who makes less money. I\'m not saying this is the case here or not but as a general rule what I say is the truth.

I\'d have to disagree..

I\'d have to sincerely disagree with this statement. If there wasn\'t a significant amount of women that didn\'t attach themselves to partners of a lower financial earning status than themselves.. then you wouldn\'t have \"deadbeat dads\" and \"deadbeat husbands\" as a matter of course in society. You also wouldn\'t have women in society making strides to make their own money and gain the same financial benefits and status that men are making.

It\'s not as much of a given in society that the male or dominant partner be the higher earner and that the female will automatically attach herself to that higher earning partner. The fact that you said that and stated it as truth.. without taking that into account.. simply means that you\'re taking one side of society into account, without looking at another at all.

There is a substantial set of women that don\'t look to a partner to support themselves, they don\'t look to a partner to help them breed or help them raise offspring but do it themselves. This is not the 1950\'s anymore where that sort of stereotype is and should be taken at face value as \"truth\".

Steelcult and I don\'t live in a world or a relationship where that type of mentality can survive for long. Neither of us expect the other person to be less than our partner and do less than our best and give everything to our relationship. Seeing that, why would we want to shove the other person into a nook or cranny of \"society acceptable behavior\" where they would neither fit nor be happy??

Ok I am feeling saucy.

***Gets on knees***

\"Queen, will you mary me.\"

And for the record I am a 29ish white male. I am college educated with a BA and a Masters degree. I have a full time job teaching the kiddies (I am good with young ones). While I would not call it sizable I have a decent nest egg and a job with bennifits. Disease and major emotional baggage free. Housebroken (or as best as a man can be) with a sizable mini coloection.

Interested?:D

You forgot to address whether you were an award winning painter. ;)

I\'ve seen a golden demon winner - actually held a few lesser winners.

How\'s your feelings on polygamy?

I was under the impression those terms usually referred to men who are financially able to fulfill their child-support obligations, but simply choose not to (thus necessitating wage garnishing and IMO a stout ass-kicking). The term you are looking for is, in my co-worker\'s charming words, TMS or \"trailing male spouse\".
This is not the 1050\'s anymore
I would hope not since rampaging Huns and the plague never did much for women\'s rights

In summary this is one of \"those threads\" so don\'t take it too seriously :D :drunk:

@Airhead - wasn\'t there a big bust over state-side over some Polygamy cult thingy recently...?

Kool-aid anyone? :p

Yup - here in Texas. Fudamentalist Mormons got their \"religious freedoms\" in a bind with the Child Protective Services of the state of Texas.

Something about 14 yr old girls marrying 40 year old men that the state objected to.

Ayup. Thats why the state stepped in.

But the ACLU is concerned that we violated their religious rights.

Down here \"deadbeat\" has to do with not meeting your responsibilities.. financially, emotionally, in the family setting or just by being an asshat in general :p

And really, rampaging Huns probably would have done a lot for women\'s rights had that been one of the things they rampaged for.. or rather against. Hmm. I\'ll have to think about that.

Decisions, decisions

Goodness gracious. I should have realized that taking the afternoon off from working on expansion of my miniature empire, to instead work on the business of law, was not the best use of royal resources or my limited energy (these days).

I am mightily impressed with the plethora of interested parties and the certainly impressive pedigrees of the appliicants for the position as my Consort.

Where to begin?

I was well impressed with the thorough letter of inquiry from MPJ in Nova Scotia. That\'s a chilly neighborhood, I hear, perhaps he\'d relocate. Dear MPJ, how do you feel about the US? Also, you do not have a single Golden Demon. Hmmm, this is troublesome, but perhaps by showing such an otherwise fine match we\'d make wherein, we\'ll catch the conscience of the queen?

You do have the ba-ZILLION and one miniatures, so we could combine our fortunes. I am ***so*** the believer in arranged marriages of state, at least where the alliances suit my political purposes. :)

Tell me more about your mother. Is she well these days?

Now, Beowulf the Hunter, ....you saucy rascal. Anyone one with a name like that has the advantage of a clever Title. Do you go by \"Sir Beowulf\", \"Beo\", \"Wulf\", \"BW\" or \"Mr. Hunter\"? .. I should probably be told so I can follow protocol for any public appearances we might do.

Also, I love it when I get the men to go down on their knees for me. Perhaps that\'s why I became a lawyer. The nest egg and sizable collection sound intriguing. But you are merely a child at 29? I would be robbing the cradle and I certainly ..... ....Oh, hell\'s bells, I only live once. Twenty-nine is fine. You\'re definitely in the top dozen.

I\'ll need credit checks done on both of you. (It\'s only a formality. Don\'t be alarmed.) To that end, could you please PIM me your SS# (or the equivalent), your ebay and paypal passwords?

Also, I should check your references. Three should do. MPJ, you can use your wife as one, although if you have 3 children with her then, as they say, it\'s
res ipsa loquitor in that department. :D

I\'m truly looking forward to the interview portion the search to fill this position.

Photos would be nice and help in these kinds of situations. Send me photos of your miniatures, please.

Well, I\'m out - I\'d try to lie about the painting skill part but you have one of my miniatures and, judging by the fact that I just looked and see it\'s not on your site nor am I even listed at the lowest level of painters, you already know I am a crappy painter lol

Ah well, I am however available if you need a \"bouncer\" to get rid of any over-zealous applicants that fail the interview portion of the process... :)

...not necessarily so

@ Primeval: Certainly the omission must be mine. I just checked you CMON gallery. You have but one mini posted, but it is a nice one. Do send me a photo of the mini that I have of yours. It must be lost in my collection of painted metal without your ID attached to it. If I you will bring it to my collection, I can fix the error eventually. My time is momentarily impacted with matters of state (i.e., getting ready for ReaperCon, whoo hooo ! ). Ahem, [regaining composure]. But I am continuing posting to my museum o\'minis, so it would be only a matter of time.

On a completely unrelated matter about which I have no agenda, do you know any tips about how to fix a garbage disposal?

If so, I\'m a Taurus. And you?

lol Now I\'m REALLY out of the running!

I\'m not sure why I remember it was you who purchased him, but it was the barbarian in my avatar:

Although I seem to be short on qualifications, might I suggest that you can find someone suitable at ReaperCon?
