Sorry Queen ... I am not very familiar with the political leanings of the suitors in your country being of Australian origin myself. Even then I don\'t tend to understand men in general so men and politics is way off my radar. But then again I must admit I really don\'t put much effort in. The reason is this ...........

Sometimes it is good to just decide on wallet size and how good their butt looks in a pair of jeans. Good genes is another to consider should you wish to have children to one day send off to work to assist you in maintaining the level of miniatures you have become acustomed to. They can also be useful in doing menial tasks like changing your paint water over. Don\'t expect much more than that. Thankfully your son is past this stage and can be sent straight to work.

Don\'t get too hung up on the intelligence and predisposition to Golden Demons. SOmetimes it is nice to have your man in the dark as to the true cost of your purchases. If they paint themselves then they will know you are lying when coming home with 500 bucks worth of minitaures you are trying to explain away for $80.
Unfortunately you will have to put up with things like them dropping the head you have spent 10 hours painting in a fresh blob of paint on the palette. Said action will be accompanied by a stunned look on the man\'s face and a comment along the lines of \" Well you can always paint it again.\"

So it is your task to chose between the two....
Smart, educated, politically motivated award winning miniature painter or not so smart but still well paid sex god who is happy to be in the dark when you are spending all his savings on white metal.

Decide wisely ....

Joanne.

the green eyed monster

@ Primeval: I do believe I should be jealous.

First, I do not own the mini you posted. I would certainly have remembered it and definitely posted it on my website. I am not at all happy to find that I missed acquiring somehow.

Second, in the larger picture. ...with what other major female collector are you consorting and to whom else are you providing your, your, YOUR ***services***?

and along this general thread of thought,

@ Airhead: It depends. Polygamy is fine, so long as between my consort and I, I am the one who get to be the polygamist. In that event, then it is simply wunderbar (That\'s suppose to be German for formidable. )

By the way, I don\'t know if this is relevant, but my area of practice is divorce law, and I accept visa/mastercard/paypal/pewter.

Huh, I guess my memory is worse than I thought. Must have been another screen name beginning with a \"Q\" or something. And in the interest of letting the green-eyed monster sleep, I will refrain from tales of consorting with other females in the hobby (although I will be taking classes from several of them at GenCon this year...) lol

Relocation eh... Actually I see you live in Washington State, can\'t say I\'m all that fond of the west coast but I did used to live in Houston Texas and loved every minute of it. My oldest child was \'made in Texas\' though born back here.

On the child front, after three of the little buggers (all highly intelligent and very good looking I must add), I have since been snipped thus making myself a \'sports model\' as it has been said to me. This increases my standing with women who wish no further children.

Mother is unfortunately quite well and her side of the family quite long lived... Err, cancel that unfortunately as I do love my mom.

There is a picture of me in my profile when you click on my name and a good selection of my minis are available through my profile on CMoN. As I mentioned I\'m quite good for 18 years ago painting standards, not as good by today\'s standards. I did win a painting competition at a GW Conflict thingie recently with my dwarf cannon and crew mini(s). It\'s no GW but pics of my minis were featured on the GW website (for Canada at least).

Alas my credit record doesn\'t look so good. I went bankrupt a few years ago after being jumped by 8 hoodlums and left unconscious in the middle of the street, being self employed at that time made recovery quite rough. I would like to point out that it did take 8 of the buggers to bring my down just in case you wonder why I lost. Alas there was no financial settlement out of that issue, as my lawyer at the time quite clearly stated... \"You can\'t garnish a welfare check.\"

If it would get rid of me I think my wife might give a good reference, I\'ll have to see. I\'ll work on the others.

A few additional items I might point out... While living in Texas I became a card carrying member of both MENSA and the NRA, I did truly enjoy the perceived contradiction of carrying both cards in my wallet. I would like to say I enjoy cuddling by the fire and taking long walks on the beach but it wouldn\'t really be true, instead I like starting fires (in the fireplace or at a camp) and painting minis. Fine dining does hold a special place in my heart however.

One further point on the painting front... I did win about every local mini painting competition possible back in the \'80s and early \'90s, to the point the various convention organizers asked me to stop entering and start judging. But I must bring it back to the point made earlier where my ability stayed the same while everyone else got better.

My mummy says women smell and are dangerous, and that I\'d be better off staying in her \"bosom\" whatever that means. I\'m not even allowed to talk to girls.

Perhaps you have other, um, ...skills that offset the lack of a competition resume.
Do I just have a dirty mind or... :D

Also, I love it when I get the men to go down on their knees for me.
...
I\'m truly looking forward to the interview portion the search to fill this position.
Oh the double entendres!

All in all this is much more exciting than any of the recent porn threads, but maybe I\'m just more cerebral than visual in my taste for erotica lol

If you\'re painting minis by firelight that might explain why you haven\'t made as much progress as you\'d like recently. :D

Good luck with the CMON hubby hunt Queen! I agree it\'s about time this forum lived up to it\'s description. And I know I enjoy having a spouse who shares or supports most of my hobby interests. He doesn\'t paint, though a lot of that is down to his lacking 3D vision and having shaky hands, but he\'s very supportive of my painting and mini aquisition. He gets fewer points in the fixing of garbage disposal type areas, but then that\'s something you can hire someone to do. Hiring someone to watch the same kind of movies you like and so on is a little trickier. ;)

on the issue of Commoners

Strictly on the issue of whether I can marry a Commoner, that\'s permitted and actually the class in which I am searching. For one thing, I\'m not sure that Prince William paints minis, and I\'ve no interest in HRP Harry (His Royal PipSqueak). (I\'m sure Harry\'s no Nazi, but wearing that party costume shows he\'d be prone to clueless protocol blunders which I\'d have to clean up behind). There are also not a lot of eligible monarch males in the world to begin with. When you add my need to have a mate equally mini-like-minded, that decimates the possible choices.

So I\'m in the market for a boy toy (ala WiccanPony\'s suggestion) who is able to be my painting slave and also do some light fix ups around the house.

Being recognized for one\'s mini accomplishments (oxymoron ???) is in a way to be awarded a royal title. So, having a few golden demons under one\'s belt, in addition to whatever else, I figured is good for starts. I\'m always on the hunt for unknowns however, so I\'m certainly willing to entertain looking at potential suitors\' portfolios.

@ Max Cexwish: Yes, our common uncommon friend, JBT, is a bachelor. Like you he also has a butt load of golden demons. But I heard he has a fan club of hysterical female fans who dog his foot steps wanting whatever it is they want, ...minis, some rolling \'r\'s, to tousle that hair, ...something. That would bother me. I\'d have to kill them. I\'ve heard that might lead to jail time. And so, there you go.

My new friend from Nova Scotia who described himself as \"thick in the middle\" is actually more appealing. Hopefully any such imperfections (inconsequential to me) mean less outside competition fawning over my chosen mate.

I think Angelina Jolie must have the same thoughts when she goes out with Brad on her arm.

@ Dragonsreach: .... Do you mind which carrier you\'d fly one? I\'d like to do something that gets me frequent flyer miles as part of the deal.

...and Bullfrog\'s advice is to be well-taken. Kindly, pack your intended interview apparel accordingly. Also, will you please bring me the damn mini I\'ve been hounding you about at the same time?

I\'d be happy flying in a DC3, cos those birds are half magic. (10 points to the person who gets the reference)

Photographer/Adventurer here - and hack painter. Although methinks that Kyrra might have prior claim.

Hmm - magic flight time Mike?

How bout these -

UH-1 - Hanging from the gunners straps at 2k feet above Ft Worth is an interesting experience.

737-200 - Bald tires, bullet holes in the wings - Hell of a way to land in Baghdad.

C-130 D-J Models- pig on the ground, graceful as a swan in the air.

An-24 B - I swear that SOB was built in 1960 and hadn\'t been maintained since

An-26 - god the interior was purple leopard print.

CH-53 - Helluva Helocopter

CH-46 - at least they were leaking hydraulic fluid

UH-60 - only flight I was ever on where they opened fire at the ground.

That sounds like it was just too cool

Any landing that you can walk away from....

Better that then the other way round? ;D

rented from Prince?

For some reason that sounds suprizely comforting. Military vechiles should be leaking something from somewhere, that\'s how you know that they work?!? Sounds odd, doesn\'t it?
