He all. My name is jo, sitting in Frankfurt Germany. I started painting GW, mainly bloodbowl as a kid in the 90´s, but I never had the money or Ambition to really get into the Hobby. This year Things changed, I good unemployed at the end of last year and bought me a Little army painter Hobby set, just to put some paint on my tabletop boardgame minis, Massive Darkness (you probably guessed it, thats where the Name Comes from), Zombicide, Warhammer Quest, and Necromunda, which I gathered over the years.
I quickly discovered that I really enjoyed it and became better at it quite fast, having studied art history for a few years and being a Hobby sculptor and painter for most of my life, helped of Course.
Then Corona came and I Immidiatelly ordered all of the Massive Darkness sets and some other Minis from various Sources, watched a whole lot of tutorials, resurrected an ancient airbrush that I found in the cellar of my gilfriends dad and really spent the whole lot of time that comes due to the shutdown painting minis.
I even found a Job again and guess what, i can even paint at work, cause I got literally Nothing to do while the Lockdown is active!
This thread is my first one in the Forums, i will start to post my most recent WIP, the Massive Darkness Spearmaiden. Other projekts which i started earlier will be posted later or go directly into the rating area.
This might get confusing, because i could show some pieces later that look not as good as the ones earlier in this thread, i hope it wont be to confusing, and none of my minis, though i painted about 60 since january, is considered done so far…

This one is based, primed layer coated, and partially shaded atm, so im about half way done

welcome to the forum and hobby. you have got some nice changes in tone going on in his skin. I think you have room to go a bit lighter with the highlights, this will help the details and forms to pop. especially in his face. this bit needs to be lightest on the mini to really grab the attention of the viewer.

Its a her, but thx so much! Im allready working on the highlights, doing just what you said, having a blend of colours from dark blue at the bottom, violett to dark red in the middle and tanned skin to barbarian flesh for top and hihlights, it really makes those cheeks pop out :)
I got to admit, while im looking at the pics, i have to go 1 -2 shades lighter on the shoulders and face to put the cheeks into a more realistic lighting.View attachment 79065View attachment 79066

Got to improve my photographing soon, sorry for that, im at work and going to build a little booth at home maybe this weekend.
