Good to see Matt\'s work on here, especially something that isn\'t Games Workshop, as that\'s all I\'ve ever seen of his work.

It\'s nicely done, but the photo has some nasty jpeg compression artefacts and some of the details are obscured as a result

Matt is my favourite painter. I thought it was a travesty when JRN\'s chaos knights won the slayer sword, that year it belonged to Matt\'s chaos champion oriding the carnosaur.

Thanks for posting the announcement Joe.. totally amazeing work from matt.. I hope we will see more from him. Say hi to matt for me and if he has email now to drop me a email at dragonforge@gmail.com

I think the reason was it wasnt removeable from the base which made in not a gaming piece.. which is part of the rules for a warhammer monster entry..but agreed it was a smashing piece.

... a painting contest which is carefully designed to mainly be a way of promoting the game. GW doesn\'t lift a finger without considering if it will help sell more Space Marines.

For starters hes a 3 time slayer sword winner in the UK. He use to be a GW UK Eavy Metal painter, but now works freelance.

@Joe - You\'ll have to get him to come and say hi to us forum denizens :D

That piece really is great, there is a lot going on in it, yet the colours he has chosen mean it doesn\'t seem over-complicated. 10/10 from me
