Matte/Glossy Sealers?

So, here\'s a basic question: I picked up my matte sealer, but it came out slightly glossy. Probably I was holding the can too close. Can I correct this with a brush on matte sealer, or will it still be glossy?

I was really angry when it came out that way cause I spent so much time on it and I know everyone will knock it down 3-4 points, thinking I\'m an Idiot.

While I\'m at it...

What\'s a Medium? In art, it\'s a base for color, so I\'m assuming it\'s the same. Vallejo sells matte/glossy/metal mediums, so I assume their clear?

I\'m also gonna get some of their varnishes, so that\'s why I ask if I can paint it on...

It is a matter of taste.

I prefer a gloss coat for models I\'ll be playing with. Over time it dulls and the coat takes longer to ware off.

A second coat of matte sealer sprayed from a farther distance would help the semi glossy look.

If your matte is not, try putting on a dust coat. Spray from as far back as you can without the paint drying before it hits.

When that can of matte is done, buy a different brand. However, dust coating will kill some of the sheen.

ya i think brush on will do it. i have a friend that uses brush on gloss and he always uses too much. just make sure u dont water it down cuz it will turn glossy

A second coat of matte should take care of it, but make certain not to get too close (thus the gloss) and not too far away as suggested above because then you will get a rougher texture as it \'air dries\' on its way to the miniature (sounds corky but I\'m a professional painter - not miniatures - airplanes).

Anyhow, a good measure is about six to eight inches away from your miniature, or if you want, put your pinky and thumb out as far as you can stretch them and that is about as far as you want to be from your miniature when you put on your finish.
