Worked some more on the hair, but other than that noone said to work on the bust more, so I consider it finished.

On the weekend I started with the VE-11 Airplane model. Did the Airbrush steps up to the gloss varnish. Now I'd need to do the panel lining and decals, but I'm waiting for the Tamiya panel liner for that.

Until then some more that's on the desk:

left to right:
- Dark Sword female superhero. I'll probably paint it up as a marvel/super/powergirl. No idea which one. It's waiting for 1st of July.
- Redemption from ex-origen-art sculptor, will work on this one until the Liner arrives and after the plane is completed. I'll most likely mask it, then AB the clothes. After that many glazes to strengthen the shadows/highlights.
- oo look, the cosplay figure Sicks and Bailey paint. Assembled and basic skin airbrushed on. :)
- Hestia from e2046. Intermediate complexity kit. Basically there is just white cloth + skin, so painting is easy, but it's made from many pieces, so assembling is harder than it usually is.

Love the last pics of the bust. I think if you added a few more highlights to her hair as Sicks suggested, especially in front on her bangs, then you probably should consider her done.

Lots of great stuff on your desk, can't wait to see your take on the cat lady.

thanks for the comments.

Meaty: Hestia could take a while, but I'd like to paint that mini before september
Khavor: some extra highlights were added compared to the wip pic.
Darthmarsh: why would it sound rude???

bit of progress on the clothes:

Also painted the hair reddish brown. Not sure if I should keep it, but I don't want to go with black like the oficial painting.

Minimal work on the Bunny:
- top of the ears darkened
- eyes 'defined'
View attachment 49669

And a bit more with cosplay haley:
- Shaded the skin
- started the eyes
- tried the clothes as transparent white. This will be a LOT of work to get correctly, but the Legs seem ok-ish.

- somehow I don't like how the face turned out. doesn't look smooth despite that the paint was as thin as those used for the legging, other areas of the skin and even the bunny.

I like the bunny girl, she's coming along nicely, as for the cat lady, now that I've seen it you could perhaps do the trim in solid white or a peachy pink colour, if you manage to get the transparent effect working then it should look good. The face doesn't look too rough from what I can see, looks like a small patch on the cheek bone near the hair, the main thing I can see is a line across the nose, I think mine had this too, it looks like a mold line but I didn't notice it before painting, I think I smoothed it out using a bit of gloss varnish, I had to do the same on one of the arms which didn't seem to fit correctly so now it looks like an extra wrinkle in the cloth.

I think it will be solid white. What I so far did was a grey basecoat + black wash to bring out the details.

about the line: I'm not sure it's a mould line at all. The shape reminds me more of a cat's nose, so I might paint the tip of the nose dark grey or black.

I think you're right about the nose, on closer inspection of the greens on their website it seems to be on the sculpt too

I was going to point out the mould line on the nose, but I think you are right about it being a cat nose design.

I am liking the bunny mini although she has one funky eyelid.

I noticed the same line on the nose for my figure and, since it doesn't match up with any other mold lines, thought they might have meant for it to be a cat nose. I didn't really want to paint on a cat nose for the figure, so I just sanded the line off.

Overall, she's looking really good. Yeah, I really like how the legs and stockings turned out. I know there's a bit of texture on the face, but I'm guessing that is only really noticeable in the pictures. I imagine in person it looks fine. Are you planning to add any more color to the face? I'd use some glazes to add some more red to the cheeks. And a blue or purple glaze could be used on her eyelids to create an eye shadow effect. At least that's what I'm planning to do on my version once I finish painting the hair.

do you remember the wonderful small spanish company called origenarts ? They made some super busts and minis. Sadly they are no more, but the sculptor is still working. so far 3 busts were released: red alabama, redemption, la Resistance.

Currently I'm painting the Redemption one (the bunny), but today the Resistance has arrived.
Usual small red box with a card showing th LE number (3 of 300), some background story and a 1 piece bust that needs almost no prep work.
But what I found most in character was that the box was lightly perfumed, so the presentation gives not only some background, some visual (the bust) but also some olfactory sense too.

Also looks relatively easy to paint to a good standard as it's only a uniform, a hat, face and hair to paint. So not many materials, few nice details.
And it's one of the rare minis where it's a good looking female but not oversexualised (no XXL silicon-breast for example), no weapons or gore. Just something nice and normal (even if uniform suggest military, altough it'd be pretty easy to paint it up as a Lufthansa stewardess).

on paintings:
- no progress on the Redemption one

- I organised a painting competition on a local forum, that run from eastern to end of may. With the dubious prizes of "having one less unpainted mini" and me painting 1 mini for the winner to a better than TTQ standard (would like to get display quality, no idea if I can do that or not). The mini the winner sent is a deathwatch space marine conversion (from legion of the damned, SW and GK bits as far as I see). I started painting this one. Got the face and started on the bones for now. I'll make pics after work, so you could help me get it better.

Having a painted mini as a prize would be enough to make me want to compete, it would be cool having other people's work to have on display

WIP of the prize:

mini was sent undercoated to me, started with face, beard, bones. Blocked in the planned highlights on the armor, basecoated the genestealer.

started highlighting the bolter / arms and it really itches me to do it with dry white pigments instead of blending and many glazes, or at least switch from Vallejo paints to Rackham ones.
