did this for MDC, it\'s the first of a 54mm sci fi line they are working on.
didn\'t have time to get it to competition standard.

Well for something you say is not competition standard she looks OK on my monitor although I will say the base is letting her down big time.

Can\'t say I am a fan of the 70\'s style platform shoes/boots but the paint job has brought up the figure alot :D

unfortunately the bae was a rouch tarmac effect and i wasn\'t allowed to add anything to it so i just gave it a roughed up dusty/dirty and liquid spill effect.
it looks better in person but i would have loved to have added a step and some of the diamond pattern plating.

I really, really don\'t like the pose of the fig, but the paint job is a cracker.

The green splash is a bit distracting, otherwise I like the paintwork on the base as well.

The figure is very awkward, but you\'ve painted it nicely!

I\'m thinking it\'s sort of an Aeon Flux type thing, and that imagry is always having awkward poses.

Mostly Scott talks crap (lol), on this occasion he talks the truth.

Loose that green it detracts from a great paint job. I really looks like she was drinking Green Monsters and threw up! On the whole the base is too light, It would lift the whole composition it she had a darker base.

I think she looks great though.

This is a nice paint job, especially if you had a very short time to achieve it, although I think the pose looks extremely awkward. But I\'d say the awkward pose comes from how it\'s been put together rather than the model itself. (sorry Generulpoleaxe)

When I saw this at the show where I purchased it, she was in a very different pose and she didn\'t look so unbalanced etc.

I feel the need to try and redeem this model! I dug mine out and did a quick put together job with blu-tak, so she\'s not as tidy as she would be...

No! Still looks crap!

Poor pose and poor anatomy - not something I\'m usually too critical of, but her limbs just look too long and she\'s got that awful big-arse, big-tits cliche going on.

Shame, could have been good.

You know... I\'ve looked at this probably a dozen or more times since you posted it and I\'m just impressed. I\'m much, MUCH more of a fantasy guy than a sci-fi guy but this just looks cool.

I don\'t really agree with the comments/preferences against the green graffiti. I think if you edged the base in black or some neutral color, that it might set the green off as vandal\'s accent. Otherwise... spot on. I think most folks would envy your not to \'competition standards\'. =)

Wow Gene! You\'ve taken a sculpt i don\'t like and you\'ve trasformed her in a beautiful mini! I adore your style, it\'s however unique! :)
And i like it so much and you\'re improving day after day!

@tooshy, the pose would have been slightly better if the arm had been raised i agree but it cuts out a lot of detail that comes from the better angle for photography purposes. both the feet don\'t sit flat on the base either (very annoying as i wasn\'t allowed to convert it in any way meaning no simple cuts and refits etc to change the pose slightly to allow for a better stance)

it\'s a great model to paint, but like many it\'s not my cup of tea realy (i prefer swords and armour)

I like the stained concrete look of the base. I agree black or some neutral color around the side though.

I like this model. It\'s very comic book, and I don\'t mind that. Not every mini line has to make perfect proportions.

The rusty weathering is good, and I love the nylons!
The shine on the hair is the part I always seem to have a problem with when I\'m painting black hair. Yours works, mine doesn\'t.

very harsh contrast, that\'s all that is needed.
i used to over do it but now i go from white through a main colour that is on the mini and into black.
then tweek highlights to make the contrast pop.

it\'s crazy but the more i learn the less i tend to do to achieve results, i spend more time now adding in extra bits of colour and micro detailing nowadays!
