ME16 - Miniature Exchange 16 (FINAL list on page 6)

It seems like we have a great deal of first timmers who just set up their accounts and with all the flags going around might it be easier for the newbies to exchange with the newbies. You could have two seperate lists:

The usual suspects
The flagged

It would not be any extra work on the set up person\'s side and it allows us veterans who have been doing these for years to just exchange and not have to worry about so and so getting from so and so and so on. Wow that is a great deal of sos.
This would allow the first timers to get to exchanging too.

Undave

Flockwit
Not a bad plan. It may speed things up if we have a lot of people waiting to send out to flagged receivers.

On the other hand it does kind of smack of setting up a n00b ghetto. I\'m not really sure it\'s fair to exclude first timers from the general exchange

In the end though I suppose it\'s up to Zap.

And as for the number of sos, it was so-so lol

Based on the rules posted, newbies would never receive minis, as each would have to wait to receive before they shipped to the newbie after them on the newbie list.

Looking back through older exchanges, there have been quite a few first-poster people appearing for the exchanges, though obviously, I can\'t attest to how many were people just trying to score some minis from the generous people and run.

It is, of course, up to the person running the exchange in the end.

I stand by my request for only one mini. I have far too much metal and plastic to ever paint in my lifetime. Truthfully, I\'d still prefer just to give and not receive, but that seemed to make people a bit confused. :)

If it helps you can always just send me shed-loads of stuff outside of the mini exchange, I\'m a helpful person like that :D

And of course I\'m back in for this one as I\'ve got some specific impulse buys I want to offload on an unsuspecting sap ...I mean lucky recipient ;)

So many generous offers to take my lead off my hands. One here. A few PM\'s. You\'re all so sweet to offer.

But let\'s let my ME recipient be excited by a pile of free metal, first.

I\'ve selected my assortment, already, ranging from the late 70\'s up to fairly recent stuff.

Sounds like fun, I\'m in.

Also, dunno if I count as a newbie or not, I may have done one of the early exchanges way back, I can\'t quite recall :)

@katieG

no I wouldn\'t count you as a newbie as you have what I would call an active account with numerous minis posted, recent as well as early. I always check on account history on CMON as in the forums when I\'m not sure on a newcomer.

And this about it being many newbies: so far it\'s one (1) more than in ME14/ME15, and last ME only one of these newbies failed the task laid upon them. :)

It will be like winning a miniature lotto, everybody\'s got their ticket hoping to get paired with BarstoolProphet

this newbie already has an assortment selected. Not all junk either. Some I had really liked at one time. Seems like I just manage to aquire them faster than i can paint them, but I guess we all have that problem or we wouldn\'t be doing an exchange.

Most of us acquire them faster than we can paint them.

Do a search for \'painting area\' and \'storage area\' and see that there are people here with enough for any twenty people to paint for years and years.

And they\'re still buying.

I\'ve managed to slow my buying down, but I still have friends that bring me neat things from conventions and the like.

eBay certainly doesn\'t help. Every so often one of those \"must... escape... hobby!\" fire sales will pop up and who can resist really cheap minis?

It took me years to give up buying minis. It\'s been about 4 years now since I have purchased a single mini. I get all my new ones through the Mini exchange now, and ME also gives me a chance to thin down the collection.

Moving is what did it for me. Having to pack them all up, carefully wrapped, boxed, and labeled. Having to handle pretty much each one individually to wrap them gave me a really good idea of just how many I have. Plus then when we moved in, at first I had all my fantasy warhammer guys lined up on my workbench and it was rediculous how many there were, all upainted. That was was the \'scare\' I needed to stop hording.

Edit just remembered I have a pic taken for a \"show us your work area\" thread a while back. This is just assembled unpainted Warhammer Fantasy guys, it doesn\'t show the unopened boxes of stuff that went with it, or any 40K stuff, or any Epic Stuff or any Non-GW stuff... etc.:

I\'m interested too. New to ME and the forums at large, but been on CMON for a while.

Singapore - Preferably in Asia, but anywhere works fine.

I\'ll be checking in every so often to make sure I don\'t miss anything out =)
