ME6 WIP

beowulfthehunter sent me some figs for ME6. Amongst them was this howling banshee he had painted to table top standard. He challenged me to improve on the paint job. So this is a WIP thread where I will put up what I am doing. Any advice, comments or suggestions would be welcome.

The initial figure..

And I start be doing some shading and highlights to the metal. With the pics I have noticed a couple of rought transitions (like on the thighpad) which I will have to clean up. Any other ideas as I don\'t like the shinyness altogeather.

Nice so far need some smoother blends but looking good so far.

I have assembled and undercoated but Im stuck now cause Ive never painted a wolfen and I dont want to do the same old stuff.

To go with the alien feel I would advise doing a more scenic base like hes jumping over a ruin or dead orc or something.

A touch of Vallejo Metallic Medium on the edges would increase the contrast but at the end of things I\'d suggest Testors Dullcote.

@Dragonsreach - Neither of which are available In New Zealand to my knowledge. :) I have just found a proper brush on Matt so I will try that.

Nice, glad to see the changes in the fig, she looks better already.

How are the other figs going. I want to see what you can do with those.

@Tidco
Who did you get for your mini excahnge partner? I\'m sorry you never recieved them but I think a P.M. would do wonders.

Very nice, sadly mine never arrived so I have nothing to show, :(

Edit: Never mind. Just seen in the other thread your miniatures showed up. Nice ones too :D

So here is some more progress. I have highlighted the holster, pants, sash and gems.

I put a layer of gloss over the pants just to see if it would give them a leather look. I think I will just put matt over them.

Now done the gold on the gun and hilt, plus the blade of the sword (I damaged the tip of one side of the sword and now it\'s a bit rough). plus made a start on the hair.

Looks really good,
IMO i would like to see stronger highlights on the banshee mask and on the \'breasts\' of the model
basically more extreme highlights :)
Really wicked though:)

I have used mithril silver as my highlight. When I add white to that the effect isn\'t very good. Do you have a suggestion as to how to get a brighter highlight?

Sorry, I am not good at using Metallics or mixing with metallics you will have to ask someone with more \'knowledge\'.
