right... gel medium basically gives your paints more matte or gloss, depending on the type. It\'s good to mix in with inks to stop them drying in those horrible \'puddles\' you get sometimes. It\'s also useful if you like using paints as washes.
If you want a medium to dilute your paint, get flow enhancer. This dilutes the paint without the pigment particles seperating from the fluid, like a lot of water can do. Great for blending.
you can also get mediums to make the paint dry faster or slower, and those can be a great help if you\'re a slow painter for instance, you want the paint to dry slower, if you\'re fast, faster(although acrylics are pretty fast to begin with
)
There are also pearlescent mediums, that make your paints ....pearlescent, mediums to make it go streaky etc etc. I don\'t find them to be too usefull though.

Actually I find the pearlescent medium is ace for work with elven creatures, not saying that your wrong Ma\'am!
Flowing enhancer is brilliant though. I have dubbed it liquid golden demon!
All those annoying tide marks you get from very thin blends and the like are irradicated by this miracle product, which is very useful if, like me, you use 60,000 layers of paint, thinned to the point of ridicule to paint an area the size of a pin head!
