Damnit MM, I was gonna get this guy as my 1st ever steampunk but when you paint it I'll just feel foolish. Same thing happened with that big fat SP guy you painted. Well, I guess I can only say that you have great taste in minis...
ten things I love about your paint job:
10- Nice control of detail on such a small scale
9- Subtle control of color theory. Blue button and band with red scarf. Contrasts so well with the grimy and earthy pallet.
8- the 5 o' clock shadow
7- full range of contrast on everything. Important on this scale
6- Unique leather/tan color on his jacket
5- Excellent weathered look on the above
4- his cherry red nose. Really provides setting (cold winter night) and/or character (flushed from drink).
3- so many small glare points. Such effective use of the tiny white highlights
2- Stippling on his hat
1- light placement on his hat
