Thanks guys, it's good to know that I'm headed in the right direction :) KruleBear, I've been wondering about those things - I've would love to get some dead flies and stuff on the front but not sure how to do that at the moment. I'll have a think.

So rather than more weathering I've been working on the wooden flat bed and a resin box from DWC.

The box looks good.

Google "bug splatter on a car grill" images and ther are some good references. Looks kind of similar to weathering you have done with lighter colors focused on the leading curve of the front surface...of course i am not even capable of any weathering to your level.

Mega, looks amazing mate. I think the weathering/ageing is absolutely spot on fella. Great work mate - to quote AndyG....you are in the zone on this one.

Keep it up sir.

Thanks lads, I know what you mean about getting some bugs on the front.

So, whilst there's not so much to see that's new I've been beavering away doing lots of bits - dullcoat, weathered the underneath, headlamps, one side bin, attached the bonnet, painted some fire bomb bottles and lots of other bits that need doing but gets lost in the bigger picture.

Excellent job particularly like the crispness of the checkers on the red metal locker box thats very well done indeed sir! Possibly i would dust up the running boards a tad more and the wood work on the back could do with a litlle bit more depth and scratches etc. These are very minor things indeed and the overall job is of an outstanding level. Cant wait to see this finished.

You're quite right Andy about the extra weathering a depth required on the wood work. I'm going to do just that!

I cheated on the chequers - it's a decal from a box of orcs!

You've gotta keep the mesh clean of flies and gore!

With little ado I've gone straight into (or should I say back to) completing Newark. So far I'm just at the sketch stage where I'm placing colours - already I can see the top areas need to be a little lighter. Otherwise I'm happy thus far. At the moment it doesn't looks smooth and a bit rough around the edges but the coming stages will fix that.
