Thanks for the comments - yep the barbarian is way old now, I've just started doing another kind of one. You'll find the pictures of the original one you mentioned in my gallery most probably.

After the last few things I've fancies doing something organic, plenty of opportunity here then!

BF of K - he's a nice mini for sure, a little rough in places but I guess it's showing its a few years old now. But it's a fantastic pose imo.

I've increased things, smoothed other things and had a first pass over his cold side.

I saw the WIP of this guy and the green did have what looked like some trouble areas. Best of luck though that scar tissue is spot on. Also nice job with the super, super thin skin layers. I can actually see the primer showing through in some areas, so they are that thin. Lovely job.

Yep, I checked out the greens too, but it is what it is. Thanks buddy!

For this stage I've continued onto his right leg and really gone for the shadow on the left hand side, I'm really enjoying the effect. I've worked more on the cold side of his belly but I'm still not 100% with it. I'll leave that area for the time being until I decide what (if anything ) I shall do to change that section. Oh and his arms have been worked on too.

I agree with BloodFather, I think the reason the leg really works is because it blends right over to blue-green, whereas the belly looks more brownish-gray. Might just mean that the intensity of your cool colors needs to be built up more? Gotta say, he's looking awesome. Those scars are wince-worthy.

I've smoothed things and continued to play with the different sides but not yet touched that belly part. The base and context will (hopefully if I pull it off) pull it together - fingers crossed!

Yesterday I was thinking about composition and this is what's I'm going with - nothings glued, things needs slight adjustments and of course the base isn't even started.

And I progressed on the main fella - the bear skin is base coated only.... Oh and I'm going to repaint the outside of his left leg as it was just too crazy.

Liking the composition of the dio , the two models interact well with each other and look engaged even though there not physically touching. Great work as always mate

Taking things on board and thinking it through I've repainted the outside of his left leg and touch up various other places. I'm sure he's close but there are a few spots where I need to increase the shading or highlights.

He's coming along nicely I particularly like the bearskin the fur is excellent. Just one thing I don't know if it is the light on the photo but the blue in the shading on the skin looks a tad light? Maybe needs a bit darker tone though only a bit IMHO.

I agree, that bear skin is very nice. I am also liking the skin even if you left it as is (but darker would look a tad better).

Love the bear skin.

I believe i read some one say in the general discussion thread that they do not post minis as cmon has one dominate style.they obviously do not check the wips. You,Bailey, Milosh, Sprocket, Skeletett, Zab, Andy, BaM, Bloodfather, Alexandra, Demi, Moetle, Space Monkey, 10Ball, etc... Show the variety of work on cmon. I love these wip forums.

This thread is a pure joy for the eyes. I really like that space marine dude on the previous page, and the barbarian is coming along nicely, lovely colors on the skin! Keep up the great work man! :)
