I don\'t think the mentos people would mind this gimmick. This is publicity you can\'t buy Not bad for a little Dutch invention (mentos, not the diet coke).

I thought Mentos were german?? Anyhoo they did this on a TV show last night called Numbers.. Its a US Drama about FBI profiler that uses numbers/math to solve cases.

Anyhoo it looks fun but messy lol

Just tried the thing.........not impressed. 4-5 feet for a secound or two. Something they did in the video is WAY different to get the results they did. 3$ down the drain.

If you look at the width of the stream, I dont think they put the lids on.

Here\'s a good explanation of how it works from a scientific angle.

I don\'t think you need Mentos or diet soda. I think that you could do it with powdered unflavored gelatin and club soda.
