The amount of traffic our site received because of hosting this mini caused it to crash last month!
So i have re posted smaller files and hosted externally, ENJOY!

Done as a commission piece, this is a piece i thoroughly enjoyed!
The brief was inspired by couple of pieces that were in our home page gallery at Golem Painting Studios, Green plasma glow effected blood angel, and a scenic base with a cracked and broken floor.
I took full advantage with this mini to push the boundaries of the budget (as usual ;). filling many areas with subtle freehand hands in some snazzy places, even repeating some of the sculpt of the model.
The client wanted me to freehand Mephistons personal back banner from the codex and doing this was my favorite bit!

Super work, ive just started messing with NMM. Ive been using just codex grey with black & white. Then washing with blues and browns (you can see on my dark elf recently posted)
Just a question about the green NMM do you use a standard green then highlight from that one colour or a few different greens to get the contrast?

:)

Your color placing is good, yes they are too harsh in places and the highlights in the center draw the eye more than the area toward the tip of the blade, this should be the opposite way around. to softten the harshness just add a few glazes of a very light grey over where the two colors meet.

Great work.

at first glance it seems like an average mini. But with those close up pictures, he is amazing :O

I think it's really great overall as usual. It's just one too many strong colours in my opinion. I'd drop the blue of the banner and make it more neutral.
