Merklin going down

I heard today in the radio that the worlds biggest producer of miniature trains merklin is going down due to the financial crisis and management issues.
Do you think this will have an effect on our hobby since it is partly related by terrain making and stuff like that?

if a few miniature online companies will surely go under.... i have heard that croc games is having a hard time as well as some other smaller miniature companies. if anything look at privateer press which is beginning to put out plastics for the first time. not to mention the fact that GW have stated that their ultimate goal is to have 100% plastic in the future. its cheaper with plastics in the long run. that is until the price of gas starts going up and the use of petroleum in the molds begins to skyrocket. lets just hope wyrd doesnt go under. i love those guys.
