Messed up after several layers how can I fix?

I had just got done painting probably the best skin, on a Warhammer Goblin, that I have yet. Then I go and work on the cape and start layering / blending and get to like 5 shades later and realized I did a pretty bad job of blending and kinda blended everything on top of each other. Is there any easy way to fix this now that there are several coats? The only way I can see to make it look right again is to start from the very bottom. Should I try to get the paint off the cape with an exacto knife or something and just start that part from scratch or a I just out of luck.

Thanks

You might be able to get away with just painting black over what you\'ve done and starting over. Especially if you\'ve been thinning your paints properly. If you find you\'re losing detail to this, though, you might have to try the x-acto. And if that doesn\'t work well enough, you might be forced to strip it and start over, awesome flesh notwithstanding.

Good luck.

A couple of choices on which way to go:-
Q-Tip and Acetone the cloak paint off.
Paint over and start again.

Personally I\'d try the Acetone method first.

Pictures to clarify? When you layered the colors on the cape is your problem not a smooth transition occurring? Or have you literally painted over every new paint you have applied?

If there is not a smooth transition you could apply some glazes to smooth it a little bit. Sorry couldn\'t be of anymore help :(

In that case, as BarstoolProphet said as long as you thinned your paints you could just start it again. Capes usually don\'t have much detail so it should work.
