metallic paint

Im wondering if anyone knows any good metallic paint sets? i Need a a metallic green but i dont want to have to mix my own color. So any info would be great.

For metallic green you could look at Coat d'arms Enchanted Green. They also have Enchanted Blue as well as the 'regular' metallic colours. Not sure what happened to the purple.

Reaper Master Series paint range also has a big bunch of metallics including one green that I could see.

I haven't tried the Reaper metals yet but the Coat d'arms is pretty much like GW (the Brass anyway).

*sigh* have to go order a bunch of them RMS metals now; some cool colours in their range

Also check out the Valejo Model Air metallics. The metallic particles are ground extra fine (like 10x finer iirc) so that they go through airbrushes without issue. The finer particles make for really nice finishes on minis even when brushed on.

I just got this crazy idea...but has anyone ever tried using car paint on their minis? For that smooth, laquered finish on armor...or a car. Car paints can have some wonderful colour.

well i use vehicular primer. the main problem with normal car paints is probably the thickness

ktooloo has a good point with the vallejo airs. they are the best metallic paints i have ever bought

Vallejo also has a Metal Medium #521. Add it to any color for a metallic finish.

Well Freak I didnt want to mix my own because I have lot of minis to paint & thought it would be easier to have a color ready. So I bought Metal Medium Coat d arms silver & a few shades of green. So much for a premixed color.

Get a 7.5ml empty dropper bottle and mix up a whole bottle of the stuff. Means that you not only get the colour you want, but also don't have to bother mixing it up every time you want it.
