Mid-Nor bases?

Okay, my bout with my GD entries are over! That means I can get back to the stuff that I want to do for myself. I\'ve got almost every blister from the Mid-Nor dwarves (except Malhel and the 3rd Harvesters.. and the Resin Satue.. but that thing\'s worth more than it\'s weight in gold). So I was just thinking the other day how to do their bases?

See, Mid-Nor dwarves live in caves and underground, so I originally planned on a smooth cave surface or lava coming from rocks, but I don\'t like that. As they\'d come out to fight, I might do a regular battlefield terrain, but I want some areas flat and regular flock just isn\'t doing it for me..

So has anyone done a kind of earth/cavelike base that\'s worked well? I\'d hate to leave them bare, and I think my only option may be sculpting milliput bases.

I really liked this idea...

I hesitate to offer advice to a personage of your rank and experience, :D especially as I am sure you must have seen this article already:

It really intrigued me however, and I thought I might be able to adapt it to some particular style bases I had in mind.
I thought it might give the opportunity for a cross-over of worlds - an underlying terrain with a cracked clay \'motif\'.

What\'s scary about that base, though, is that \'s what it looks like around here most of the time... :p

Subconsciously...?

Could that be part of the attraction of the Mid Nor Dwarves...?

Sorry. I\'m a psychologist. I can\'t help it.

Are you saying everyone from El Paso is stitched together and has given their bodies to demons? ;)

No, that would mean a higher per captia IQ, which others don\'t have... :p

Interesting note, though: When the guys at Confederation Du Dragon Rouge figured out I lived in El Paso, they wanted to know if the T**ty Twister (From Dusk Till Dawn) actually existed and if I went there...
I said \"Oh, yeah, I go down there and stake a couple vamps everyt chance I get\" :D....

As for the desert base: Mid-Nor dwarves prefer caves because of their cooler climate, that way they don\'t have to change their skins as often.. also why I don\'t wanna do a lava base..

Not the image I had in mind...

I thought about using it to create a cracked effect like a dryish riverbed. Where I come from that would be a damp environment \'cos it bl**dy well rains all the time. Course where you come from it would be exceedingly dry.
