MIG powder pigments on chaos army? some advice

Hello,

After my current commission work is done (by next week), I\'ll be doing a chaos nurgle army for a store contest here (entry = $10, winner gets $10 for each entrant, worth of store products...i think right now it\'s at $60). The army will then be for sale to either a potential buyer (or ebay, if that falls through).

I recently got some MIG pigments. Has anyone used these on warriors instead of vehicles? After my washes and glazes, (and hilites), would I just dust this on with a brush where I want, and then use the pigment fixer?

If I want to use 2 or 3 different pigment colours, do I put them all first and then fix it, or use the fixer for each dust layer?

Regards,

Sanjay

I think pigments/pastel dust are one of those things where you have to experiment and see what looks right on the model. There are many different ways they can be used and each one gives slightly different results.

You can certainly apply a layer, fix it, apply another colour, fix again and then use a third colour. You can also work all three together at the same time. Often not quite the same results will be achieved but well worth seeing both as either might be suitable depending on what effect you want.

Do you have an airbrush? Any colour shapers?

What they said ;).

I used pastel dust on the base and boots of this one :

I started with the darkest color and went on to lighter ones (adding variations for rust and dust).
