Milky white sheen?

Hey guys, can any of you tell me why im getting a milky white dull sheen when I take photos? I can remove them by fixing the lighting levels in PS, but i\'d rather not have to bother with that.

Here\'s an example:

Im using a nikon coolpix and have a basic setup with a couple of tablelamps using daylight globes.

Any help would be appreciated :)
