Milosh's everything else WIP log

I figured I better start a new WIP log to cover everything else but the hot chicks and pin ups I like to do. Afterall, I have to take a break from all the boobs every now and then.

Here is the first subject, something on the opposite end of a pin up, Winston Churchill. This is a 1/10 scale bust by Life Miniatures that is incredibly sculpted by Sang-Eon Lee.

Here is the progress from this weekend. If anyone has a tip or trick for painting pinstripes I'd love to hear it. I have never been good at straight lines.

Mighty fine paint job and subject sir, maybe a little ember behind the ash?

Pinstripes and what not; always start from the center of the subject and work out doing your sketched in pin stripes at even distances picking a distance easily measurable i.e. the width of the handle of the brush or some other such easily to hand yardstick; it gives a better eveness (if thats a word).

Also a relatively lightly applied but broad stoke to start with to get the smooth stroke down and then touch up the edges working inwards with the darker material coulour to get a nice thin line and then, very finely, a light highlite at the top of the garment and any top edges of creases which is fairly straight forward as you have the line already there for a guide.

That information is from my dad the senior Gillaspy whos a better painter than me.

Thanks 10. Thanks Andy, sounds like no tricks, just good old fashioned hold your breath and hope.

started another project involving this guy. At first I didn't really know what to do with him, have him coming out of the ground, maybe out of the sewer? I just couldn't come up with anything to really make him tell a story about what he was thinking about. I finally decided that he was pondering what to do next, he has some good ideas and has done some good work so far but his next move could mess everything up.

"Pondering the Genesis, what next?" WIP

Churchill is amazing man. Awesome skin tones. It really looks full size.
Fun idea with the genesis, and the base, especially the white water rapids, make it look really big.
