Hi, my name is Luca...

... I live on the second floor... Oh no, that\'s a song :D

I\'m with Mosch. I have never licked my brushes nor had any desire to. I wipe them on a paper towel.

And I\'ve found that for me, synthetics and naturals both lose their points equally quickly, usually after about 3 months of use. I don\'t paint armies, though, so they probably go faster when you do that.

I have a friend whose lips are always black from licking his brush.
:)

I don\'t think the Swedes can lay claim to that. I have never been to Sweden and I do it too. In fact sometimes I use my left thumbnail as a pallette on which I mix paint colors.

(I did have a Swedish housemate once - he used to complain that Americans thought all Swedes were tall blondes while he was average height olive-skinned brunette - but I don\'t think this has anything to do with painting :) )

By the way, why was it again that ordinary soap can damage brushes? There was something about it dissolving something in organic hairs or so. Fat?
Natural brushes are animal hair. Washing your hair (or skin) with regular soap will strip away the oils and make it brittle (oil and water don\'t mix, but both bond to soap, which is why soapy water works) if you do it a lot.
That said, I wonder if brush cleaner would make a good shampoo.???

Weird, I\'ve never been a brush licker. Always blotted with Kitchen paper instead.

That said I lick my sculpting tools. And that\'s worse lol

No, Steve...it\'s the WAY you lick the sculpting tools!lol

Am I missing something here?
Are you all saying that you lick your brushes with paint on them?
Cos I lick/suck the points back onto my brushes after I\'ve rinsed them.

Or am I in a weird sub-category all of my own?

(Tammy, no need to answer that one.......:D;) )

Don\'t worry dragonsreach you\'re not alone !! I rince my brushes before liking them back to shape, but by rising I mean that I just shake it in the pot of water wich takes most of the paint of but not all of it :p And if wenether I feel like trying to blend ( and failing miserably) I just skip the rincing part to go faster :D

After I quit, I chewed the handles off of several brushes. I now wonder if they use non-toxic paint on paint brush handles?

i don\'t know about the paint on the handle, but the lacquer coating is probably far worse for you...

no i wash my paint off, but sometimes when im thinking about colors and such, or just daydreaming, the paintbrush hits the lips, and sometimes, its still full of paint.

heh, i have 2 pots: one to get most of the crud out, the other for a final rinse (also serves as my clean water jar...if its not too dirty). guess this gets rid of some of the gross-out factor

I\'m a brush licker and still think Reaper should add flavors to their new line of Master paints (due out in November). That was my very first suggestion to them. lol

Ooh, I\'ve got one!

How \'bout \"Dessert Yellow\"?
Eheheh.....eheh....heh......heh.
Yeah, I thought that one up myself. :(

And back on topic, I think Vallejos have the best flavour ever. They have a wonderful lime/citrus taste and smell.
