Let me get this straight: now we\'re discussing which paints taste better?
Yup. It looks like brush licking addiction is a worse problem than it first seemed. lol

Any chemists/doctors around who know about effects of paints on the human (and cat) body?

By the way, on paint names. Heresy was asking about paint name suggestions on the forum of doom if I remember right.

I used to lick my brushes, but stopped rather sudden;y after my fiancee caught me at it and swore she\'d never kiss me again. Now I only lick the brushes when I know she\'s not home.

Maybe if I could convince her to paint she\'d understand.

sorry, i guess it\'s inconsiderate of us...
like talking about what brand cigarettes we smoke and why, in front of someone who just quit smoking...
(like the rush when it hits your lips, the sweet satisfaction when you\'re done, the rebelliousness of doing something you shouldn\'t be doing...)

oh man, i might quit smoking and take up brush licking:D

Yes.....

I only lick the bristles to shape the point. Never to suck the paint out  ???

There is nothing wrong with licking the brush. the paint is non-toxic and it\'s loaded with vitamins.lol

My problem is I\'ve become an occassional glue eater. Sometimes I open the tube of super glue gel with my teeth. After applying the glue I have only one free hand. So,I usually hold the miniature with one hand and aim the glue tube towards the cap. The wierdest one was when I got some glue on my tongue. :p

My darling wife was quick to get on the phone and tell all of our friend,\"You\'ll never guess what he did...\"

...i licked mine yesterday... turns out flow improver stays on the brush after you dip it in water... tastes bad, has a kind of numbing effect after a few minutes :]

Fun Fact: You get the same effect when eating a whole pot of honey.

I know you\'re going to ask, so here\'s the answer: I was hungry, it was night, I didn\'t want to wake up my parents, I only had a pot of honey in my room.

it happened about 2 weeks ago when my hand was somehow super glued to the table and i spilled my water onto the carpet....so i wiped the extra paint of on myself and licked the brush.

My great grandfather was a coach painter in Scotland. I am told he used to lick and suck on his brushes all the time. All that 1 to 1 freehand work required good points too. He died relatively young....lead poisoning.....boy am I glad when I suck I suck on acrylics:D my favourite worst taste experience was blue ink with a touch of mithril in it, sucked up a loaded brush worth. I think I was spitting it out for 10 minuteslol

It was a free sample. I went home and sat down. Remembered the honey, had a rush of lazyness and couldn\'t be bothered to put it in the kitchen.

I know you all hoped for a more interesting story, but there is none :D

Now what I am wondering.... how did you all actually get the idea to suck on your brush? And please, no \"Freud\" answers :D

It just seemed the obvious way to form a point. As for the numbing thing well back in my more youthful days I cooked some flapjacks with \"herbs\" in and they completly numbed my mouth too, wonder if you eat enough honey would you get other effects too?

Cat\'s are notoriously curious. The question is will your cat do it again?
