Mini and Money Issues

Average about $100 or so a month - but I can go months without purchasing a mini and then buy $200-300 at one go.

Course there are advantages to having 1500 or so unpainted pieces.lol

I was really into that too... oh wait. Your subjects probably had clothes on, huh? Nevermind!

Since I\'m still spooling up slowly, I\'d have to say I\'ve dropped about $40 a month the last year and a half. But a lot of that was getting a complete set of paints. Only problem is that I\'m using only about 50 cents worth of minis a month by painting.

Money is getting looser around here, but I\'m stashing it into little buckets for later. Don\'t know what\'ll happen this summer, but hopefully I\'ll be the proverbial squirrel stashing away mini-nuts for the coming winter.

I reckon between 50 - 100 buck for me per month just recently but maybe much less if I averaged out over a year. And a big stack of that goes on shipping costs.

There must be some kind of psychology behind the buying more minis when I haven\'t even painted 10% of the ones I have...I do it all the time...I wonder why?

Yes, they had clothes on...and didn\'t cost a thing. Nothing close to the demonettes. So, I have a feeling that I can\'t paint those Darksword ladies.

I actually haven\'t bought anything for close to a year. The problem is my wife has picked me up several things recently. I got a promotion at work and she decided to go and get me the new HE army book, general/standard bearer and white lion chariot.
So does that count as money spent on me even though it was from someone else?

I put down about $100, which is about £60 I guess... but most of that is on modelling materials rather than actual minis I guess.

It varies, one month I may buy a single blister pack and a couple of brushes... another, if I\'m getting stuff ready for a comp, I\'ll end up buying a sheet of custom brass etch at £30 ($60) and £50 ($90) worth of paints and sculpting/basing materials... so I guess it varies.

In comparison to my other hobby though, it\'s cheap as anything :)

If you think painting minis is expensive, dont take up amateur rocketry... when you can (literally) burn $2000 of fuel in 2.5 seconds... it starts getting a little silly.

I guess I spend about 30 Euro a month for Minis. But since I mostly collect GW stuff, thats not to many Minis =)

And this month I bought myself a big birthdaypresent . A tyranid scythed hierodule is on the way to my home...guess I don\'t have to tell that this by way the most expensive one I have ever bought.

Oh and I spend also money for Acrylic colours, but I\'m also using them for any other kind of painting not related to minis. So I don\'t count that in on my mini expences.

Not anymore, actually, unless you buy in bulk :). Sometimes yes, definitely, but often after you factor in shipping individual minies often become pretty darn close to retail. Now, when you buy whole army then you can save quite a bit.

Now, as to how much a spend, Not sure, about $30-50 per month, sometimes much more (around Christmas counting several items from Forgeworld it went up to almost $400), sometimes much less.

PS. Just looked at new orks on e-bay. After adding shipping they are actually more expensive then GW retail and definitely more expensive then warstore.

With only just getting back into the hobby last year and then nearly dying in a car crash where i also nearly lost my painting arm i haven\'t bought/painted much.

In 2007 i spent around £200 max, that was restocking paints, brushes etc as well as buying a few models (gotrek and felix diroma, GD archaon, white dwarf, GD ork 07, Skullz SM standard) a few high elf characters and a few wood elves.

I haven\'t bought anything in 2008, but i could spend a lot if i had the money or there was something i really wanted.

This year will cost more as il be entering a few GD categories

My spending varies from month to month but sometimes it goes crazy...like this month! So, when I average it out...still too much. Of course I include paints and anything related.
