Hiya people, I must apologise for my slowness in replying to peoples PMs and I\'m ashamed to have not painted one of the brilliant models Anatora sent me.

I\'ve been working nights and then working on my dissertation in the odd hour of the day I don\'t feel completely knackered in.

I\'ve got today off however and I\'m working the day tomorrow meaning I can sleep tonight soooo I\'m sending off your figures Tracy and I\'m going to paint one of the figures you sent me Ann in my customary 2 hour maximum time! (damn the dissertation).

MarkusTay I\'m just about to PM you my address, apologies for the delay.

Does anyone have any Mini-Exchange pics up yet? Or am I going to be the first one :D?

Love Ru xx

The rule of thumb is two weeks, so I would wait until the 24th. Try PMing him one more time.

Good to hear from you, Fire-dragon-studios. :D

no problem! If you ever want to mentor a kid I am here for you although the Momma says if that would happen somehow she would cut off the supply of my emails and act like me. ??? ... WHAT!
(she will be doubled up in the mentor department)

Hey, I will be happy to be your mentor, lol altough I don\'t know if I actually have something to teach to anything.. Tell this to your mom!

Sorry - I\'ve neither sent something yet nor left a comment, but I\'m back now (I was - and still am - très busy). I\'m looking forward to finding some time to paint minis.

I hope I\'ll make everything until October 1st because I\'ll be really \"offline\" then for two weeks...

Forgive me I\'ve made you wait and I hope my paint jobs will do the stuff justice - I haven\'t painted for quite a while now.

Vince,
PM me, I still have some funny things that I would love to send to you, just to see what you do with them!

@ Starfall, I got your PM, I will be sending your package out Friday Morning!

So I guess except for Rogue-Painter, the gang\'s all here.

Anatora & Valloa - I forgot to mention, since I lucked out and you both occupy the same space (residence-wise), I figure I would save a little on shipping. It should be easy to figure out, Ann\'s is the REALLY BIG box. lol

Everything else is Valloa\'s, but you can share the postcards if you want. :D

Hi,

Orginal gepostet von shinjikun1
@toxc have you feilded those black knights yet ?

well, I am working on them, but I think this unit will take a lot of time (10 horses AND 10 riders is really so much work to paint, that I have to do breaks sometimes and paint another single mini inbetween, before I continue with the unit)

Anyway, I decided that my deadline for the unit will be christmas, because in the christmas hollydays I will play lots of warhammer-games and then I will fight with your black-knights.

Have a nice day
Michael

I got mine!!

I received my minis from toxc a couple of days ago. THANK YOU! They are great. From left to right--headless horseman (my favorite of the bunch), reaper fighter girl, rackham valkyrie of alahan, and a rackham banshee. These are awesome. Michael you were most generous. Thank you for the postcards as well. Who is the lovely lady with you in the postcard by the way?

Works for me, especially since it saved you money and I will share postcards. :)

Got my ME miniatures today. Got 2 and I like them both. Thanks :)

My camera is refusing to work along... but I happen to know where to find the pics of these miniatures online... so here goes:

My favorite is the wizard (I love wizards and this is a very nice one) from the Elmore set #3 sculpted by Dennis Mize:
Wizard
(wish I could paint it this well, love the dirty robe effect)

I also have gotten a standard bearer from GW, a LotR\'s elf from Haldir\'s army from The Two Towers:

Standard bearer, tiny pic though

Don\'t worry, it didn\'t hurt anything. I always silver everything before priming. Among other things, it gives the illusion that plastic is metal and that has a psychological effect when painting plastic. Now I can paint \'metal plastic minis\' :)

I didn\'t think you hurt them, I really wondered what you did. Are they covered like model car parts in a chrome finish of some sort? Ever do that and then leave the blade unpainted?

They are covered in a specific silver coating, rather than chrome. The pictures from my camera do not do them justice. I haven\'t left blades silvered by have washed over armor and shined it back to silver for highlights.

The coating has several purposes: it adds visual weight to the mini. You cannot tell a plastic from a metal mini. It also gives the \"primer\" (actually white paint which acts the same as primer) something to grip onto. If you make a mistake and want to remove the paint and primer, you can easily remove everything back to the silver layer without stripping the mini. The coating also makes every detail pops out in great relief, making it easier to paint.

Now if only my paint jobs were as pretty:(
