mini painting events in The Netherlands?

A while ago I had a discussion about miniature painting events in neighboring countries. France has got a GD, UK has got GD, Salute, and a couple of others probably, Germany also has a GD, together with stuff like Duzi, Miniaturansichten, etc.

But the Netherlands? If anyone knows of any, plz let me know, because I\'d like to visit one then :)

I don\'t know, but your best bet would probably be to ask Cindy (cdukino) or Ming-Hua (minimaker). They both are in the Netherlands and I know go to a lot of conventions. Although I get the feeling a lot of them may be across in Germany

Not only that, but we also have a lot of \"Opens\" all around France with very talented painters (amongst some from our neighboring countries).

As for the Netherlands, I think Eric\'s suggestion is your best bet to get some solid info.

I have a couple of friends in Holland and Belgium so I will ask them if they know of any although I imagine most will probably be game orientated, I know there is talk of the Dutch Open but again I think that is mainly gamers although they may do prizes for best painted.

No real big events with major painting competitions that I con think of. Only one I can think of is the yearly GW game/competition meet in Tilburg (not even that big. I can\'t be bothered to go there since it\'s pretty boring if you\'re not into GW or wargaming). Associations have their regular meetings and specials which may have competitions but that\'s about it.

That\'s one reason why you often find Cindy and me often at conventions in other countries.

Bye, Ming-Hua

lol I know what you mean minimaker: this type of event where you just enter your minis in the painting comp and then hang out at the bar the rest of the day because there\'s nothing else to see except a table filled with unpainted 40k miniatures :)

so basically you don\'t visit any events in Holland then?

We would if there were any...hahaha. Like Ming-Hua said the only one i know of that\'s remotely acceptable as a convention is the game thing in Tilburg. It\'s basically a sporthall filled with tables where people play warhammer/40K/Lotr and there was a tiny table with GW bits and figs for sale. That was pretty much all there was.

Then there is Spellenspektakel in Eindhoven... which actually a gameing convention (board and card games and some Larp-oriented stands basically). There are some miniature sellers present there (stores with reaper, warmachine, gw, demonworld), but limited. And it varies heavily each year. So obviously not a miniature convention but a game convention with some miniatuires if you are lucky.

We also have something similar to spellenspektakel in Belgium, it\'s called Games World. THe first few times I went it was pretty much okay, but last year it was crap and too expensive. One of my friends visited Spellenspektakel and said it was great, so I might visit that this year :)

btw Cindy do you think you will make it to Crisis in Antwerp this year? :)
