Mini Preferances

Now I have absolutly no experiance in making minis and also have no sculpting ability once so ever, so you can be assured that this post is based on sheer randomness. I was wondering what kind of minis everyone likes; Fantasy, Sci-fi, villagers, crusaders, monsters, ect. Not that it really matters, or that it effects anything. Just trying to start the random small talk that fuels the great philisophical discussions on these forums (most of which revolve around pie and nationality).

P.S. When it\'s 3:13 AM and you\'ve just seen somone on the TV cut a coconut with a greatest hits CD, you\'ll lose your senses too.

I like Fantasy and steampunk minis, and usually, female. Not the scrawny and half-naked barbarians, but rather elegant ones. I just like to paint robes and draperies, and female minis just lend themselves more to such things (what I\'m trying to say is : I don\'t think I a pewter perv, leering at minis with unhealthy eyes and dribble on my chin lol).

Oh, and for the sake of philosophical argument, I like pie but HATE those bloody English and everything that exists on the other side of the Channel (except for ale and whores).

Would it make it any better if I said I think Corwall is such a nice place that it\'d deserve to be French ? :innocent:

Well meself, I\'ve been getting into the 40K stuff \'cause I really like sci-fi and the outrageous weaponry. Other than that, I like undead, especially zombies and skeletons, and monsters are OK too.

Back on track, I love to paint...

1) Spyglass mini\'s because they are so smooth and lovely

2) Orc models (any company) because I have green skin down to a fine art.

3) Space Marines because there is just so much you can do with that blank canvas!

:DI lean toward the Fantasy mini..but I do like any mini that is unusual and with a dynamic pose, the one’s in the CMON shop are a good example. They move and have a story to tell, which makes them so much fun to paint..not easy, but fun.:flip:

Favorite mini? That\'s like asking what\'s my favorite chocolate.

But, on the other hand, I do have a favorite chocolate - dark.

I used to do all Reaper figs, then I found out about the Golden Demons and started painting GW\'s.

I\'ve got a few Rackhams, haven\'t summoned the courage to actually PAINT one, but I will be soon as part of a collaborative painting project.

I also do a lot of female fantasy figures.

Dragons and monsters are way cool, too.

Actually, I have a lot more favorite minis than I have favorite chocolates. Guess I\'m a lot more selective about my candy than I am my lead.

Personally, I like every mini i\'ve seen so far (that includes the Talon of Rock vincegamer posted). My preferance though is the Heresy miniatures, just because it\'s a small time mini buisiness. Also because I like his experiments with different miniature action poses (his WIP lurker mini). Not to mention he\'s one of the nicest guys i\'ve never met.
