Miniature Exchange #2

Done

Well at last I have completed part two of Doughnut\'s package to me.

Imrahilonfoot.jpg

Prince Imrahil on foot was the second miniature in the blister and I realy enjoyed doing it. I did not have time to do the base I intended for it and that will now form part of a future project. The base he ended up with is a bit lame but I still like it.
Has the site for the Mini Swap been set up yet?

As for a deadline well I think that if we put it off for a week or two it would not hurt.

As for a theme well I do not mind I like the way this one is going as there is a lot of variation in minis sent and painted.

From Frustrated Father...

...and waiting for any slackers in the wings.

I want you to know that I resemble that remark!!!

Hey Ritual,

She\'s coming along just fine. The farther I get with her, the more I really like this wyvern. She has a great deal of character.

I\'ll have her done by the deadline, (whispering under breath, \"only if I get moving quickly here\") :D

...off we go...into the mini yonder...

but not THAT Dr. Bob
I just received a package from U4-Welcome - a mix of different minis including a Rackham Fire Elemental, a GW Bretonnian Sorceress (I think), and some kind of familiar.

Merci beaucoup, Wealon!

The only problem is that I ended up with a net INCREASE in my miniature stockpile. Wasn\'t the whole point of this excercise to reduce our stockpiles? Next time, I\'ll have to be more generous...

all done!

now im just waiting for the camera to come back from some place...
anywho...for the next mini exchange what should we do for a theme if we have one?
i was thinking something like creatures/monsters or fantasy or Sci fi...

Creatures and Critters?

I haven\'t seen TJeffers around on the forums of late so I\'m not sure what he has in mind since he originally started this up but I thought it might be an interesting time to see about trying to organize this a bit and see where it goes if anyone is interested until our illustrious leader arrives. :D

The deadline is/was January 15th, does that seem still realistic to the rest of the folks that are participating in this at the moment? That gives another ten days or so to get a miniature painted up and tossed around for everyone to take a gander at. Perhaps we can go ahead and organize the rest of it so that the next one starts up say the 1st of February and will go through till March 15th. In this time we can think up a theme, select our miniatures, send them off, and realisticly give those that need the extra time those additional fifteen days to get off their duffs and slap some paint. :p

I know there are some other people that are eager to get on this wagon as well, thus the reason why I\'m pointing the direction that I am, though considering it is a group effort I think everyone should chime in that really is interested in it.

How about a creature or critter for the next miniature exchange? Sounds fun to me.

Trevor

Brushlicker and Freak!
Well I\'m progressing great, really moving foward and getting ahead*

Yeah sounds fine to me, although I\'m not really sure what I have in the way of creatures, maybe if we opened it up to anything thats not a human?

*I found the mini again after my move

Deadline

The deadline is fine for me, then it would be as I actually finished my minis.
If people need a bit longer then fine the 15th of Jan is next Saturday afterall.

Can we extend it by a few days? I haven\'t got round to photographing mine and will now be away until the 15th! :( If not, I\'ll just have to post it a bit late!

Just as an offshot, if anyone hasn\'t seen this thread as well you might want to eyeball it. I didn\'t start it up to hijack this thread .. I honestly thought the poll would start within the thread and didn\'t think about it. Whoops. Sorry.

Additiona Mini Swap Thread

Also Kitty, seeing as the next one wouldn\'t actually start until February 1st or there abouts, I think technically it is additional time to get the paint job together.

Besides, that\'s not saying if you don\'t paint it and post it that you can\'t participate in the next one, atleast I wouldn\'t think so. Now if you were a deadbeat and got a miniature but didn\'t send one, then I would say that would exclude you from any further ones (baring a postal acciden or some such).

Did we actually have anyone like that around this time about?

Despite being one of the deadline gripers, I should be able to get mine done to an acceptable standard by the 15th. Anybody who can\'t get photos to TJeffers by then could perhaps arrange to get them in later? I think he wanted to put them all on a web page... it\'s not like it has to go to the printer\'s or something.

I am back...

I am back...I was very busy through the holidays and I also got behind with my mini painting...my basement flooded....

Alrighty, here is the last list, that was put together by TJeffers and Lurch and I have gone ahead and added those who wanted to be added. In the mean time though, I suggest that everyone that still wishes to participate in the next Mini Swap give a shout out so that we can make certain that the interest (or even knowledge of the swap) is still there and so we can get this setup proper and make certain everyone has a go. If you talk to anyone on this regularly, maybe take a moment to holler at them and let them know that this is getting underway.

After reading through all the posts, the only individual that I found that didn\'t send out a miniature was \'Draconis\'. Anyone know anything else about this or is it just one of those things that \'slipped through\'. Was he sent a miniature in return or was he left out of the loop entirely through inactivity?

So far, these are the individuals who have painted and posted their miniatures. Frustrated Father, ipaintminis, Wiccanpony, Spacemunkie, Tidoco2222, James9847 and Fizl. That\'s seven completed and posted miniatures out of thirty seven participants. If there is anyone that I have missed, please holler.

So, to add a little bit more organization to this, lets go ahead and continue to agree that January the 15th will be the official \'end\' date of the Miniature Exchange #1. Everyone that can get a picture of a completed miniature up and out should go ahead and do so, but if you have to take a little bit of extra time, well so be it. Nothing is hardcoded on this.

Miniature Exchange #2 will officially begin on February 1st and will go on until March 15th. That being said, everyone that is interested in joining the second exchange should holler and be heard by ... say the 22nd of January. That will give us fourteen days from now, and seven days from the official end of the first miniature swap. On the 23rd of January, those participating will be randomly placed together to send out a miniature (only one is required but many people are sending more than one - your choice, don\'t feel obligated) and it will be up to you to PM that individual to get an address. Try and get the miniature out in a timely manner as everyone deserves as much time as possible but don\'t feel like you need to overnight the miniature in order for it to get there.

After the paring up, just send off the miniature and wait for one of your own to come to your door. Most people got theirs within the first week or so. Also, if you have any problems with shipping to other countries, go ahead and let us know ahead of time so that we can try to accomodate. Honestly though, I\'ve shipped quite a few things back and forth between Canada, France and England of late and it really isn\'t all that much more to send it. Besides, maybe you\'ll get a miniature thats a \'hard to get\' from where its getting sent from. Never know.

Overall, this is meant to be fun and I\'ve stepped up to organizing this a bit since TJeffers has been gone for a bit (though I see he just came back in the time that I\'ve been writing this - hola). The only reason we\'re even looking at a deadline is so that others can get in on the fun and so we can keep the action going, otherwise we\'ll end up pushing it back that \'one\' more time. Seriously though, if you participate, even if you are going through three swaps and you finally post the pictures of the ones you finally got around to from six months ago, that\'s all well and good. It\'s supposed to be fun.

So, if you see something that needs to be addressed, changed or added, holler long and loud. Also, remember to let the others know about it so that as many that want to join can. For those of you that still have a ?? by your name, fill us in if you would. Helps keep things organized.

As requested, here is my confirmation, I\'m in! I got a couple possible minis picked out to send and I even dusted them for their future owner. I\'m happy to send anywhere in the world, so I\'m no hassle.

Thanks FF!

Much to my regret but I\'ll have to back out of this exchange. :(
I\'ve got too much on with a number of commissions, The last exchange, and PAINT AID. (and I\'m not even going to mention Work!)
