Count me in too...

Nathan;

Count me in too mate... sorry I thought I had PM\'d you. I sent you another PM a minute ago too just to be safe! ;)

Grumb

Thanks for those of you showing up and hollering. Anyhow, the list of names above in my first post were those that I have NOT heard anything from. If you\'re not in that list, I\'ve got you down as joining in on the fun.

Anyhow, when I get home tonight, I\'ll add and subtract those that have hollered.

@ Lurch

Huh ... can\'t hear you, you\'re signal is breaking up.

Actually thats good...
I work for Sprint!
lollollol

On a more serious note though,
My mini that was due on the 15th is painted and dare I say, is beautiful. Teh fire elemental turned out beyond my expectations...
That is....
Until I photographed it.
For some reason, my camera washed out all of the bright beautiful yellows and oranges to a dull, dirty color. Even the background, which should have shown up as a gradiating blue to white, turned out a solid greyish purple color.
I\'m going to try and rephotograph him in the light of the sun, but unfortuanatly, that means I have to wait for the sun, AND be home when it does.
I promise I will post it as soon as I possibly can.

@ Aragorn ..

Think you missed the last post from me that stated that if your name WASN\'T on that list everything is all well and good - I got you on it, no worries. That list was just for the people that haven\'t checked in yet.

@ Lurch

Here is what I do to photograph my miniatures. Basically, I took a milk jug, cut the front half of it off and a good portion of the bottom to, but left it where it can still stand up.

Then I got some bright blue or pink paper (depends on what you on painted on your miniature, this will make certain it doesn\'t get lost in the background,) and place it along the back of the milk jug and below it as a floor.

Place three lights around it, one on each side and one up top if you can manage it (still fiddling with mine) and then photo.

Take it into gimp or photoshop if you have it, select the miniature, reverse the selection, cut it from the picture, open a new one, create a gradient background (or download one), paste your miniature in, flatten image, and do a color correction (shift-L). That should do it for you.

This link here really helped me out, read it and get some ideas. Mine is a bit more crude, but it seems to do the job.

I more or less have the list together right now, but I figure we might as well wait until tomorrow to hear from the last of the stragglers. I\'ll be posting Sunday morning (my time) who gets who and then everyone can take a moment to peruse your miniatures, look at your swap partners miniatures to see what might work, and get them ready to send off.

Anyhow, speak up peeps if you\'re interested.

Deadline, 22nd, list out 23rd ... atleast I seem to recall that, though I might be just whistling in the wind and my old age is catching up with me.

None-the-less, I\'ll have the list on tonight before I head off to sleep. If for some reason we have some stragglers stumble in, I\"ll do an individual swap with them myself.

Brushlicker and Freak!
I\'m almost finished. Would have been done earlier, but my resin mould hasn\'t set yet, can\'t cast the base until that is done and can\'t do the base until that is done...

Will be finished very soon.

:)

And the moment you\'ve been waiting for ...

Alrighty folks, its time to get your mini(s) together, packed and ready to send on their way as we now move onto the second Miniature Exchange.

Only Aragorns_mate requested that he post within the same country so his initial selection was out of the UK folks, but everyone else was then dropped into a bowl and my kids fought over each piece of paper until I was finally given it and thus the selection you have before you.

Just like the last time, the person on \'top\' sends a miniature to the person directly below them, so Aragorns_Mate will send to Tidoco2222 and Tidoco2222 will send to Zora .. etc. Tab Studios, being the last name selected, will send a miniature on to Aragorns_Mate.

We have thirty one participants this time around and it looks like its going to be a fun one. Remember, you are only required to send one miniature, though last time showed that there were some generous folks and multiples were sent. One is required, anything more is just cake on the icing - don\'t feel like you need to do anything above and beyond though.

Contact the individual to whom you will be exchanging a miniature and get their address through the U2u or PM\'s here. In this instance, I\'ll send Zora my information.

Try and get the miniature out as soon as possible so that each participant has the opportunity to finish their miniature up in the time frame we\'ve aloted for this exchange, which officially begins on February 1st (hopefully most will have gotten theirs by or soon after) and will go through until March 30th.

This time around we\'re extending the timeline a tad bit due to the Paint Aid, but I hope to have a new Miniature Exchange going every month and a half to two months total.

For anyone that straggles in at the end of this and wants to join in, feel free to holler at me and I\'ll be more than happy to exchange a miniature with you so that you can join in on the fun and/or make certain to keep up and holler at us for the next one.

The goal is to have fun, so don\'t worry if you don\'t get the miniature done in the time frame that we\'ve alloted, essentially, as long as you send and recieve, all is good, just when you are able, toss us a finished product so we can all oooh and aaaah over it.

If there any comments, questions or concerns, holler at me!

Enjoy!

To send a message to someone else, just hit the U2U (user to user) button and type in the recievers name and then your message and hit send reply and it will get where it needs to.

In the gallery, click the button on the right that says \'YOUR MESSAGES\' and it will come up with a blank box on the the lower right hand and boxes that say \'delete\', \'send\' and \'close window\'. In the empty box, type in their name and hit SEND, then it will pop up with a message window to type in what you want and off it goes.
