Miniature Exchange #2

Aaaaaand, we bring to a close the final stages of Miniature Exchange #2 as today is the final day officially.

Many of us, like myself, haven\'t had the chance to finish up the miniature due to lives keeping us busy, charity auctions, chick challenges and plain ol\' laziness or other projects in hand (I fall into the laziness and projects!).

If you didn\'t get to finish up your miniature, no biggie! Get around to it down the road if you have the chance as that is all part of the fun, we\'re not the paint nazi\'s here though I admit to having fun with a good goosestep every now and then.

lol

As always, there is a bit of leeway with getting the miniatures done \'in time\' and for this one it will be until the 8th of April more or less as we\'ll start taking names for the next exchange, find out who is leaving this time around, who is staying it out for another one, and who joins us new.

In order to help keep these Exchanges organized a bit, I\'m going to start up a Miniature Exchange #3 thread for everyone to speak up in, and then of course reiterate the guidelines and go from there.

Hope to see a large turn out, and maybe we\'ll manage to get more miniatures done this next time around! Heck, all I need is some realistic water and I\'m set on mine here .. might even make my own deadline.

:p

Errr....

I stink- still worksing on #1 and am converting #2 still- haven\'t painted in a month or more now.:(:(:(:(
I\'m gonna opt out of the nest for the next one I\'m afraid- someone else can have my spot. I was very happy with the ones I got. Don\'t know if my counterpart in #1 ever did get their stuff- I sent an elf eagle rider and a set of Star wars guys(he sounded down and it was near xmas) to them. One day I\'d like to see it painted- but like me I understand being a \"speed-demon\" at painting.lol

Finally got mine posted for #2. Thanks Galante for the figures, I hope you like what I came up with.

The pebbles were balls of greenstuff left to cure a little, then flattened with a jar between two sheets of baking paper. I probably should have gone a little smaller.

@provoke_me - you can still post a link if it\'s waiting to be approved. We can vote and everything! People routinely pimp their unapproved submissions in the Shoutbox so that by the time they hit the Browse page they\'ve already got 10 votes :D

Speaking of pimping for votes - I finished my Exchange #2 mini last week - Emperor Haghendorf. Those of you who frequent the Works in Progress forum are already sick of him. Note that I included \"Mini Exchange #2\" in his title... :)

Ok, it\'s done.

And you can vote for it here:

I\'ve always wanted a Werner Klocke sculpt, and this one turned out great, in my opinion.

Originally I was going for a nice little diorama, with the thief on top of the roof, and some guy on the street searching for him, all this painted accordingly with the great article on OSL by Shawn.

Of course, two things got in the way:
- It didn\'t look like OSL at all;
- My short attention span does not allow me to paint anything bigger than a 28mm mini.

I always thought he was an elf too, so on top of a tree it is! :)

Very nice work Bruno! I think it would be neat to have a bit of foilage on the tree to make it less desolate and more \'elf-y\' but on the paint job itself, fantastic!

Thanks Nathan!
That was definitely my plan, and to paint it in Autumn colours, but like I said above I was getting a bit bored, and looking at all the minis Paintingploddy sent me for exchange #3, I decided that it was enough for me :)

See, I know what it takes to be a good painter; dedication, commitment, being willing to go back as many times necessary to correct a mistake.
I just choose to ignore this things lol

Wow Galante, that is some fantastic work! Very nicely done!!!! :D

I have started the GW dwarf that I was sent for the second exchange. I have no idea what the figure is???

I\'ll post a quick pic out here and maybe you folks can help me identify the little bugger!

Cheers,
Grumb

Gallante,

I love your fig. I voted and commented.

The tree idea is far better than the roof thing it came with.

Get to work on ME# 3.

Too cool!

John :D

Thank you jahecker!
The roof had potential, but it meant more work :)
Like I said before, and was suggested by FF, some branches and leaves would benefit this, but alas, more work! lol

ME#3 will have to wait; I\'ll be away this week but will hopefully make it before the deadline (yeah, right!).
