I\'m in Illinois (USA) I don\'t really have any old minis since I just got into the hobby 8 months ago. I\'m also a little short on time right now, but I will gladly do my best to get mine posted on the site as soon as possible. I\'ll probably be sending a newer mini that would be fairly common since I just don\'t have the cash to pay for OOP and stuff. Thanks for the great idea TJeffers.

Sounds like fun.
Is this; you get the unpainted then paint it and keep it, and then send on an unpainted?
Or do you get the unpainted , paint it and then send it back?

I believe it is you get the unpainted then paint it and keep it, and then send on an unpainted.

However, your idea of sending it back is kinda cool too.

I think the idea was to keep the one you\'ve painted. Once we have a list of members we can all pass along the minis. There\'s no need to wait until you have received one and then painted it, IMO.

So.....let me get this straight....

Everyone ends up with the same number of minis they started with, but this collection now includes the worst piece of junk from someone else\'s collection?

Groovy!

Let\'s see....shall I send on my new Heresy Tunnel Dweller...or perhaps a winged Netherlord??? There\'s always those DarkSword Ltd Eds....I know!!

What about a nice GW Squat circa 1986:|~

I have piles of stuff, unfortunately most of it is in the UK, but I\'m sure I\'ve got something kicking about somewhere here...

My problem is that shipping one mini costs the same as shipping 10 or more, its extortionate to send even a little package

You know, I have this Tanath (Rackham LE) lying around, which I\'ve only ever primed and am never going to paint ... :]

@AI : haven\'t seen you here for a while, have you been furiously painting away ? lol

Oh, and when I first saw this thread I thought it was going to be about the piles and cupboards full of minis we all seem to collect and how we were ever going to paint them all or get rid of them.

Er yeah, well furiously slacking maybe. I have added the odd new model to my gallery and a few more to my made many models, but have not quite managed to finish them, although i could have a 5 man marine squad up by the end of the weekend if all goes well.

This sounds interesting, as long as I can swap with someone in Canada or at least the US. Shipping overseas can suck. I\'d be a little paranoid about my \"contribution\" being inadequate though. As long as nobody has any expectations about receiving a wicked cool rare mini i think it\'d be fun. But yeah, no plastic elves ;)

Is this a UK thing? Here I can send a bubble-wrap envelope (adequate for most minis) for almost nothing as long as it\'ll fit through the mail slot.

IT IS AN EVERYBODY THING

This idea came to me when I went downstairs to my painting room and opened my cabinet full of minis then I opened my desk caibnet full of minis then I looked at the two huge boxes of minis above my painting desk then down at the new Wolfen I bought and then over to the plastic three drawers full of minis... And I thought.....my gosh I could eaisly be put into frozen Han Solo carbonite if I were the melt these all down...I then remebred all the oldies and thought...you know what would be fun......I never thought I\'d get this big of a response....it is awesome. I think it will be a blast. But I will go through this list tomorrow and list everyone who has said definately...and then we will see about geography. I want everyone to be able to participate that wants too...and I promise not to send a crappy mini...a classic perhaps but not a crappy one....ok keep posting and tell your friends about it... Oh I am in IL, USA as well......:bouncy:

No an Australian thing, a bubble wrap envelope, counts the same as a package and the bottom weight range is 0-250g($8), maybe thats the same everywhere, but I don\'t remember it costing so much to send bubble wrap envelopes in the UK.

Or maybe I\'m just a stingy bastard.
